Two matchroom boxing (Eddie Hearn) fighters are fighting for the BBBofC British Light Heavyweight Title on the undercard of Dillian Whyte vs Lucas Browne on Saturday @O2 Arena in Greenwich, London. Originally the fight was scheduled for October 2017 but Johnson had to pull out due to an injury. Johnson had a pretty good amateur career, won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in Delhi. As a pro Johnson only fought bums and tomatoe cans, 12 of his 16 opponents had negative records like 18-49-3, 3-10-3, 5-18-3, 14-22-0, 4-20-2, 8-31-1 and 6-49-3 for example. His best win was Willbeforce Shihepo back in 2016. Because of several injury problems it was his last fight till now. Frank Buglioni on the other side fought couple of solid opponents during the years although he lost twice vs Fedor Chudinov in 2015 and old veteran Siarhei Khamitski back in 2014. His record looks better than Johnsons but to be honest Buglioni did not impress me at all so far. Looks pretty much like a 50/50 fight, but i think Buglioni should take this due to having a bigger experience on a higher level and also Johnson being inactive for almost 1,5 years is a big factor.
Buglioni by KO. I agree the inactivity will be too much for Johnson. Buglioni has made mention several times on IfL that he has made big technical improvements in training which have increased his punch power. With Buglioni I don’t think he’s the type to talk bollocks he comes across well in his interviews and knows what he is talking about. I’m expecting a big performance from him.
