Derevyanchenko is opening up on Nicklow. Hooks and uppercuts working off the jab, very accurate and fluid. Nicklow gets in a counter right hand but is mostly forced to run and hold. Derevyanchenko is throwing jabs into the guard and occasionally mixing in a harder one to split through onto the chin and rattle Nicklow. Body shots by Derevyanchenko on the outside.

He did. Cringe-worthy, as whenever someone of his generation tries sounding young & hip.

 

Round 3

Derevyanchenko explodes on Nicklow early. Big left hooks and uppercuts. Nicklow is going to war, firing back with right hands. Nicklow able to hang in there, but goes down from a powerful shove - not a knockdown. Derevyanchenko is working the body, steadying himself with his left glove on Nicklow's guard and whipping in a right uppercut while driving him across the ring. Derevyanchenko is breaking through Nicklow's defenses with his 1-2. Derevyanchenko gets a bit wild attemtping to finish Nicklow on the ropes but the American is able to swoop down with his face covered and escape. Nicklow is trapped on the opposite set of ropes. Nowhere to hide. Derevyanchenko unloads. Stopped.

Derevyanchenko got it done a round faster than anyone to date...next fastest being Fernando Guerrero. (remember that guy? Remember when he was "the future"? Yeah, he apparently struggled with a tomato can last night on a PBC undercard, coming off having barely sc****d by Abie Han... :-()
