frankie gavin imo is massively overated , great skills , but doesnt look to me physically strong enough at this weight , he maintains he cant make 135 or even 140 , but so did gavin rees for years lol ... that being said , i thought a wayyy faded morales beat maidana , and also saw devon alexander whoop him using good footwork and lateral movement , 2 of frankie best attributes , his gauge of distance is amazing , really had high hopes for frankie back in 08 , hope im wrong :)

    This.

Gavin's career has been a combination of mismatches and fights which enable him to move forward (Vassel) followed by a fight which means he takes two steps back (ie: his next opponent).

At this moment in time, Gavin has no business at world level. He'll probably get there, but that division is STACKED so much that he's going to have massive trouble no matter where he is.

Is it 6 years next year since he turned pro? Hasn't done much. Kinda cursed since that incident at the Olympics, IMO.

If he held (like he always does) him at every moment than yes he would cause Chino some problems. The difference in these 2 resumes is ridiculous. Gavin needs to earn a shot.

Gavin has only fought British level, not sure now's the time to be calling out the likes of Maidana and Khan.

Probably just trying to get his name out there but he needs to beat some better fighters.
I dont know the guy he's fighting this weekend but lokos to me lilke someone Gavin is supposed to look good against...which IMO is pointless...needs to start stepping up a bit.

Next year could be a good year for boxing.

Gavin is skilled but in the big scheme of things he has missed out on years of development. He hasn't fought anybody of any-note on the world scene let alone proven World Class level. In reality he is a nobody at that level so they will just ignore his desperate 'calling out' campaign.

I could cause Maidana some problems but doesnt mean i'm ready to fight 12 rounds with him.
So you reckon it's a good time for Frankie to fight the likes of Maidana?

What about a fight against Bundu? Bundu said he would fight in England again, and Gavin could go for the Euro title and it would be a step up.

Alright billy what about Maidana power. Myself I think Gavin would fair better with Khan. Not saying he would win just think Maidana is all wrong for Franky on current form

Without doubt Frankie is a very intelligent and crafty boxer. In terms of skills Maidana is not close but his strength, power and chin vs Gavin.........over 12 x 3s........Maidana for me!
