He got 1million on terrestrial though, you have to take that into account. Also Chisora/Fury had people interested and got several million viewers, people dont care bout Fury against Vito Malldone.
Yeah but how often is Fury fighting once every 3months? If you had it every week the numbers would plummet cos people will get fed up.
ITV4 always did pretty good numbers and boxing was shown on there semi-regular when Frank was with ITV.
Good interview, pick and choose which bits you believe or not, I took everything with a pinch of salt until he got on the subject of Cleverly, as soon as he mentioned Hopkins (again) It went downhill and Franks nose started to magically grow bigger and bigger, at one point it nearly poked Tris's eye out. He clawed it back though when he laid into the BBC.
With F1 the TV channels know they're getting a set amount of races a year and each race lasts a few hours. Plus for every race the drivers and the cars are going to be the same and the days before a race you also have qualifying and practice sessions. So TV companies are guaranteed set hours of programming which you don't get with boxing.
viewing figures is not the only thing. you can get 100million viewers, if advertisers don't want to be associated with boxing. w*rren never seems to realise that he f*cked it up with sky and tv by not putting on 50-50 fights.
Cheers for posting that ishy:good Frank always gives a good interview. Even used the less than a pint a week line
think its a good interview but he always does he is great at sounding cleaner than clean and every screws him over :- but i still like think he is the best in British boxing
I love it when the two Fwanks have a pop at Eddie Hearn. They loathe the young upstart. Like they are always honest and true. I think ******'s low point for matchmaking had to be Burns-Cook, he was practically wheeled in and carried out inside two minutes.
I think most of what he said was good and its good to hear a promoter having a go at his rivals as we all do it in our own lives whether its about our opinion of boxing football .
I thought it was hilarious when Haye and Chisora started mouthing off. Allegedly looked embarrassed/shocked for about half a second, then thought about getting up and stopping Del.... and quickly settled in his seat and started licking his lips.
