Good interview. I can see people not liking what Mir has to say alot of the time, but really, I haven't been able to find too many points, if any, that I can point to his logic and say something like, "That makes no sense at all."
Mir is so articulate, bright and personable. He's a good family man too outside the octagon. Great for the sport.
Mir is one of the most educated mixed martial artists in the game , when he evaluates mma , he does so in a completley logical manner , the things he says makes you say " **** thats so simple , but so effective and so true " , i truly beleive if Mir was a better athlete he'd be practically un beatable , the attention to detail and natural understanding of the sport of mixed martial arts Mir has is very rare for a fighter . He's the type of guy id love to practice JJ under , im really a fan of Mir , a lot of people cannot see past Mir's persona of being arrogant , well actually i do think Mir can be slightly arrogant however i see Mir as an ultra confident relaxed fighter who gives of this relaxed aura of confidence which can be seen as arrogant , he sets himself high standards and beleives he is a great fighter , and this shows in the way he applies himself . A prime example of Mir's aura and technical evaluation of the sport was the UFC 119 post fight press conference i mean the guy comes out late , and sits in the chair like he really has no interest in being there at all , pissed off and coming across very arrogant , but he was only asked 2 questions and with the 2 answers he gave back , it was like listening to a scientist the way he broke down his answers technically , in depth evaluation of how the fight went , i really do think a man like Mir gets too little credit in this sport :deal
Mir is a good talker. He's analytical, philosophical and always looking to improve his game. I like watching interviews with him.
Spot on from Frank.... I dont understand why more people dont like him? I dont follow the sport as closely as most of you here in the MMA forum, so im probably a bit ignorant on it, but it just seems he has his fair shair of detractors, but i dont see why. I hope he can get some momentum going in the heavyweight division... just because he cant beat brock doesnt mean he cant carve out a decent legacy.
He used to be and still is viewed as an arrogant arsehole. If you actually watch all of his interviews you'll realise he is very logical. He talked smack about CC but was very realistic that if he takes him for granted he will be put to sleep. He talked smack about Carwin but recognised his power. Brock was a complete arsehole after the fight but Frank still recognises what he did wrong and laughs about some of the positions he got caught in. I wasn't a Frank fan but I have been for a few fights now.
