Paul Smith should be fighting at MiddleWeight.

That's horsehit - euro paper title is irrelevant in this sequence

Franks about money and promotions , he is too professional to let petty squabbles with someone he knows to get in the way of a deal FFS

He had Groves as his main even on his channel when technically Burns was the real attraction:yep

He is promoting groves as a main eventer:good

stop being so small minded !!!

It's not irrelevant at all. Which is a bigger fight? Fighting for the European title or defending against Smith? It's clearly, no matter who the opponent is, fighting for the European title. It brings more money for that fighter, it elevates them further up world rankings and puts them in a position to call out bigger name fighters. A logical next step for DeGale is someone at European level or maybe a guy like Magee. However, for Groves, he's still at British level so he is going to be fighting a lesser fighter than DeGale will next.

He has elevated DeGale over Groves. There is no question about that at all. He is inevitably going to push for DeGale's world title shot in the next year or so and Groves will likely be even further behind by that point, even though he's the better fighter.

What Frank is doing right now, is exactly what he did with Hatton and Witter. He had them both at a good point in their careers but because he wanted to avoid a fight before both were world champions, ones career had to stall. It happened with Witter and it'll happen again with Groves.

I think the problem with having two rivals at the same weight, is that fans will always want to see them fight each other, so Frank probably thinks he has to create a bit of a gap. I'm fine with that, but Groves beat DeGale and should get preferential treatment and he clearly hasn't had that.

And yeah, Groves was the main eventer but that was in name only to help sell the fight to the locals. Katsidis/Burns received far more media attention and felt like the main event.

Listen groves win is all that is mentioned regarding DeGale !

The only reason James fought for euro is because he wasnt good enough to keep british

this myth of the "euro" title being a top ten contender or somehow important has been trashed long ago

stop giving merit to this never endless stream of garbage belts

apart from that I can agree with a lot of what you say and MAYBE youre right but stop making so many presumptions , Frank is representing him so far, dont take too much into this show
Degale rematch or not , Frank wants his fighters to make money:good

I agree with you but I do think DeGale is closer to a world title shot because he has the European title. He'll fight the better opponent in his next fight and he'll carry on doing that. When DeGale is already at world level, that's when Groves will step up.

DeGale is closer to a "world title" shot because he has Frank on his side. Same reason he was closer to a European title shot.

dont worry about the groves camp. they will be more aware than anyone of frank ******s intentions. He signed groves thinking he could control him, it doesnt look like it. Groves knows what he wants. And feel he wont be pushed around by ******, frank needs george more than the other way round, as golden boy have already been open with their interest with groves.

Lol it wasn't he was upset that Groves won at all, he actually looked to me like he was calling for the fight to be stopped after the first knockdown because he saw how badly Smith was hurt, Smith shouldn't have taken that second shot because he was completely out on his feet and had zero time to recover, did you see his legs when he got up? a swift breeze would have blown him over.

Do any of you lads know if DeGale was asked how he thought the Groves vs Smith fight was going to go ? Was thinking about that last night but I hadn't been online much for a few weeks to find out if he has shared his "wisdom" :D
