Frank gives his views on the DeGale situation :angel http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...ffled-by-James-DeGales-decision-to-leave.html He told SunSport: "It was a bolt from the blue and I was a bit upset about it. "But having said that, it's up to him if he feels has a complaint to make through the proper channels to the BBBofC. "They'll then decide whether he has a justifiable complaint and whether a hearing is needed. "If that complaint is found not to be true then we get on with it, if it is then we see where we go from there." ****** added: "I haven't been in contact with James since December, that's the last time we spoke. "It's very disappointing but he obviously feels he has a gripe and he's entitled to feel that way. "I don't believe I've done anything untoward to him. He's European champion and I work very hard on his behalf. "James has done well financially and he's in a good postion as far as boxing is concerned right now. "But as I say, if he feels he has a problem then the correct process is to go through the BBBofC. "To be quite honest, I'm not sure what it is myself. The board have asked him to spell out what it is." "I thought James won the fight against Groves. It was Groves who was meant to go on and fight for the European title but I stepped in and got the shot for James. "Groves decided he wanted to be promoted by me, but I made it very clear who's corner I would be in should they fight again. "Regarding making the fight happen, I'd like to make it in heartbeat. "But it takes two to tango and Groves has made it very clear that the rematch will only happen when he decides so, which is his prerogative. "I would like to get the fight on but I can't force people to fight each other. "If the board do have a hearing, hopefully we'll get it all out in the open and see what the problem is. "We have a promoter-manager contract in place and I'll expect him to honour his commitments unless the board decide otherwise."
if you click that link then look at the address for the sun website, fish eyes name is even blocked out there? WTF is all that about?
There needs to be a rule brought in to prevent a conflict of interest in respect of the promoter and manager role.
Degale could be putting himself on the shelf for 12 months if this goes against him. Can't see either of these guys workin together again
I don't often talk good about Frank but Frank has paid him some good money, got him the WBA International vs Horton, Paul smith for the British, Groves for the Commonwealth and then Wilczewski for the European. The 3 traditional belts, he got for him in 4 fights despite a loss on the way. He got him an opportunity at the regular WBA title should he have wanted it and Sanavia (former world champ) was next in line. He is going to make the Groves fight when Groves/Booth stop being bitches. Franks not a good bloke but he has done well by James and its too early to be bailing on him.
The Sun is highly creditable paper. I more of a daily sport man myself.. But I am led to believe that everything that is in that paper is 100% fact..
Actually the last few weeks columns from Frank have been noticeably free of putting the boot in. Has he found god?
I have some symapthy for ****** over Degale. James is such a ******** he probably thinks another promoter could do better by him... As much as i dislike ******, he has done well by DeGale.
