Wait, what the ****. Isn't Frank Shamrock fighting Ken on the 31st? This can't be right, a two-day turnaround?

Cung is getting obliterated. Frank is too technical and it can be argued that he matches if not exceeds at everything Le can do physically. Submission wise/ Forget it, Shammy by landslide.

This is a bit understated even, this will end in the first round. Shamrock is older, but an excellent well rounded MMA tactician with great standing and ground skills, Cung Le was even getting tagged by that Anthony Fryklynd journeyman level fighter and Cung Le only throws in spurts.

I could see it ending in the first 2 minutes.

    Hope we get good odds.:yep

Cung Le has only looked good and been able to use his unique kicks on some of the worst fighters to ever set foot in a cage. I'm going to enjoy when he goes for one of his crazy side kicks, gets dropped out his head, and than has his arm ripped out like a wish bone.

You guys are sleeping on Cung Le's striking. If Shamrock doesn't show Le any respect on their feet, Cung can buy something on Frank and it will be good night for Mr. Shamrock. However, Frank is light years beyond Le in the submission game. Le doesn't look as good as the average white belt at ground fighting.

I'm definitely looking forward to Shamrock and Cung Le though. This almost feels like a throw-back fight to me. It's Frank Shamrock, the all around prototypical mixed-martial artist (or shootwrestler) against the pure kung fu San Shou stylings of Cung Le. I can't wait.

We should have a gay avatar bet on this one - because if Le KO's Shamrock, the entire forum will have gay avatars.

I agree with your post..Frank is in for a surprise if he stands..

Cung Lees standup is world class. Also has a good wrestling BG

if he can prevent the takedown.. Frank is going to sleep..

I'm surprised everyone is still so high on Shamrock's ground game after the Gracie fight. Not to say it's not much better than Le's, but it seemed to me he looked lost on the ground at times in that fight.

Renzo dominated the fight against Shamrock until the knee in the back of the head. I was pissed, when in the first round, that the ref stood them up just as Renzo was about to create some space from the knee on belly position and rain down some punches on Frank. Either the rules or the ref saved Frank on that one - not his technique nor his athleticism.

I dont know about that, Cung has very technical striking, but he gets hit alot and doesn't really have lights out power.

He got hit square several times by Fryklund, and it took him 3 rounds of Fryklund basically being a heavybag with legs to stop the fight. Same with Sam Morgan.

Frank actually has more KO power in my estimation.

Yeah, when I think world class, I think of San Shou practioners beating up other 40 year old fat San Shou guys. Cung was a big fish in a very small pond in the striking world. I would bet that Frank eats him alive no matter where this fight goes.
