Ahhhh.....what an epic day! Caveman Lee says he will stop Fletcher in 3, Fletcher says no (insert expletive here) way! Any memories of this one from anybody? shoutout to @The Morlocks This content is protected This content is protected
Yeah I remember it because I was in the audience. It was one way traffic. People forgot what an animal Fletcher truly was! He was an excellent puncher who beat his opponents up and they Never were the same again. Following Frank from fight to fight was THE most exciting time in my life. His viscious KO of Silky Jackson is a thing of beauty. And he had a great chin. NeSmith, Jackson Lee Green Braxton all nailed him hard and often to no success. The harder he got hit, the more savage he became and became maniacal in his punching. Even when used up and worn down it took power killers Roldan and Mugabi 100s of shots to beat him. And Mugabi never had him off his feet. Odd you bring this thread today as I was just watching the 37th anniversary October 16, 1982, showing of the James "Hard Rock" Green fight at my lttle viewing room. This fight Frank reached his peak and after started all his out of the ring troubles and it was all downhill from there. But I tell you boy; WHAT A ****ING RIDE!!!!!! PRICELESS!!!!! I never have my Animal dvds far from me. Pure raw fighting. No bull****.
I remember his career from the get go when he won that ESPN tournament as an underdog. Hard to top him in his prime for pure excitement. His Mom was always in the crowd cheering him on. Still like his fight with Clinton Jackson the best.
well that tough middleweight from Philly torch was passed on to another guy you seldom hear mentioned anymore---charles brewer. that guy was in his share of exciting fights. And he actually made it to world champion===but that was due more to the availability of 4 different world titles.
