Trigg's technical analysis always irk me. I never understood why he replaced Bas Rutten in Pride.

Contractual. Trigg is pretty good, I like him. Knows his stuff, good figher. Doesn't try too hard.

Trigg Barnett and Machlearn were a damn good team at pride 33. Espeically with Trigg having to fight.

One problem in what he's saying is that recommending one box like a Mike Tyson style boxer is going to lead said fighter into a series of knees and high kicks.

That sounds like it's just setting yourself up for his clinch.

Hell, there is no "way" to beat Silva, just have to fight perfect.

I think the one way right now might be for somebody to do what Jardine did to Chuck, just wait, all night, no matter how boring.

Although Anderson is more skilled than Chuck, so that probably won't work.

Toquinho getting a leglock seems the best bet. I think Toquinho or Maia are the best chances to beat him, Toquinho being the better of the two. Henderson makes the shortlist as well.

There is no right or wrong way to beat him, hes just ****ing great.

A good wrestler with the gameplan of stayin on top got 5 rounds, if Hendo attempted that I reckon he has the best chance.

Simple, take him down and grind it out like Hendorson but for 3 rounds. Easier said than done but Hendorson had a good shot but I dunno what happened in 2nd.

Then there's always jump heel hooks...

Easier said than done. Did Trigg forget that Rich tried to go inside on Silva? Anderson has a terrific Muay Thai Clinch. And he's been taken down, and held down before by Hendo. And Lutter also took him down...

Yea, they both lacked either the brains or gas to finish what they started. I think when someone like Lutter but with gas or Hendorson without cockiness comes in, Silva will crumble. I don't see anyone like that around though.

Neither do I. The closest might be Okami though. A SUPER strong MW.

Franklin did know what to do in the clinch thats why he got knee'd to death. Body lock Silva and he can't clinch. Take him down out wrestle him is probably the best chance. Hendo I believe if age doesn't catch up by the time he rematches (if they let him) has the best chance.

Trigg's got good analysis on paper- however there's no way he would take Silva himself- he would get destroyed in under 1 round.
