Not saying it wouldn't be competitive, but if I could get 5/1 on Burns I wouldn't put any money on.

Yeah I know and the record will change if he were to beat Rios.

I dont think Burns is as light a hitter as some say, only time will tell!

I don't think so. Unbeaten and with a much better record than any of his previous opponents.

Katsidis was coming off the back of a 12 round schooling. Most felt it would be close.

I'm not trying to play down his wins, but I think Rios is a different animal. and much bigger.

Isn't that the Calzaghe/Mayweather argument of "I don't need to beat top fighters because I wouldn't get the credit for it. I'll just beat someone average instead"?

You have to beat the best guys out there. If people claim they were overrated after, big deal. Go on and fight the next top guy.

Never been stopped  or lost! His record dont look that impressive to me or any better than Katsidis and Katsidis has only lost to top level operators including Burns. Who's Rios fought and beat on the same level as Katsisds defeats?

Anyway will have to wait and see!

Acosta/Antillon are/were world level operators. What is Katsidis’ best win?

OK he’s still unproven at the elite level, but at this point is better than Katsidis was.

i think Burns power is a bit underated as he did shake Katsidis in their fight, Burns defence is better than Acosta`s.. Why are so many blinded by power? Why not enlightened by boxing skills? it must be British negativity when it comes to Rios

Because that's the was Rios fights. To wear you down. If you don't have the power to keep him off, he will keep coming.

Ricky can try and hit and move, but Rios is a better pressure fighter than Martinez and Katsidis IMO and closes off the ring well.

Its not about Katsidis best win its more about the fact that Katsidis has only really lost to elite level fighters and he also lost to Ricky.

At this point in time they are both belt holders that need to prove themselves at the Elite level! You prefer Rios, I prefer Burns lets get it on! Oh its not that simple is it! :bbb

How about Burns consistently out jabs him and using his tight defence makes Rios burn himself out. Acosta was winning, Burns defence is better , he wont take as many punches.
Im not saying Burns wins big time as i think it will be a close fight but i try to be objective rather than get blinded by raw aggression and power.
