It is called DAZN UK and without at least 2-3 good UK cards per month, then it is not going to have many subscribers. Only the few diehards will watch the US fights live with the masses only watching live if it is a huge Tyson Fury v Wilder type fight. The Spanish and Italian cards are on the same level as Womens Champions League Football - hardly anyone watches. Very bad value.
So what do you think of sky/top rank deal? Pointless? You said its only the diehards who watch the US fights and certainly only the diehards that watch boxxer.
The point about US fights applies to all broadcasting channels. As is stands today, UK boxing fans are far more likely to watch boxxer on Sky Sports rather than an Italian or Spanish Card hidden away on a streaming channel costing £7.99 extra per month. Tonight I am flicking between Team Warden on BT Sports and the Sky Card.
Well yes but thats more down to sky sports being in more homes. Personally I don't think any channel or streaming service could survive on just boxing regardless how many UK shows they had a month. Boxnation already showed us that there isn't a huge audience who will pay for only boxing. DAZN could have every boxing show on the planet but that still wouldn't make it successful. Long term boxing will simply be one part of the package hence the desire to try and purchase BT Sport and pick up the more popular sports.
I’ll be honest I’d class myself as a hardcore boxing fan, I didn’t know Warren had a fight card tonight.
I know Dazn have different rights in each country but their exposure in Canada is growing. Every bar now every Sunday has Dazn on all day with them having the NFL.
If you’re using it as a vehicle to promote something else then you probably need to promote that vehicle too.
