Frank Warren in pole position to sign John Murray

How about Mitchell v Murray on Dec 11th for the WBO interim title?
That’ll be free after Katsidis v JMM so Frank should use his powers of persuasion for them to agree to it. For more “persuasion” , he might get it for the full title if he gets them to make the JMM/Kats winner a “super champion”

 

**** off John Murray is one of the nicest guys you could meet very humble and approachable who has times for his fans, if you wanted a ticket for his fight he would even come and meet you in person.

Thats a suicide fight for Mitchell. I don't like the way some on here seem to have written him off. Hes a talent and he sells tickets, he could still win a world title.

On December 11th if Warren signs Murray, he should get him a World title eliminator or a European defence. On the same card have Mitchell and Arthur in 10 rounders. You then have Murray in another fight in Febuary/March at the MEN with Arthur vs Mitchell on the undercard. You then have Murray for a world title at the MEN and Mitchell for the European in London.

Then bang, the first defence for Murray is at the MEN or the 02 Arena against Kevin Mitchell with a massive support cast. Its a massive fight.

 

the fact he sells tickets in person prooves 3000 is a push LOL.

I have also heard about Murray being a bit of a twat outside the ring.

 

Would be brill that but not the sort of thing Warren or many fighters do after such a bad defeat for Mitchell to come back in a huge 12 round fight in a possible 50/50 battle hard ask, I think he will be given a couple of confidence boosters then moved back in a big fight again.

 

I have met him many times spoke to him on the phone, only think you could say he enjoyed a night out in the past, does that make him a twat? Thew guy is a top top bloke.

 

Mitchell v Murray would sell the MEN out, Murray is not a hot ticket seller right now for sure but he is known and respected and a big fight with Mitchell would bring out all the boxing fans in the city for sure, then if succesful could build on that.


The meeting you in person is just a nice touch from him.

 

It wouldnt sell it out if it happend in December. You realise Hatton never sold out the MEN until he faced Tysuzu.

Bias lol I am not mate as a person very decent lad, as a boxer he is not world class far from it, did you not see my reply to Joe Gallagher in the other thread? I am not bias mate.

But Hatton has boosted the profile in Manchster I think original Hatton fans would be the majoirty who would go to this fight, what has December gotto do with it? I am saying if John went with Frank this fight could be built up and be a sell out in the MEN, obviosuly not December the fight needs building up. :good

Get Murray a world title with a Mag7 style bill at the MEN and get Mitchell 4/5 wins maybe a european title, and you have yourself a super fight.

It's definitely good that he's prepared to make a clean break from Hennessy, as he said it's coming up to three years since he won the British title and he's still relatively untested above domestic level.

The Thaxton fight was a year too late to be relevant, and it's been regular five and six month breaks, when he ought to be out every ten or twelve weeks against the level of opponent he's been facing.

If only Froch had given the bloke the bullet after the Taylor fight :-(

The bloke has proven his ineptness time and again. Handed a brilliant set of amateurs and turned them into the forgotten generation of British champions..... then handed a brilliant TV deal, managed to screw that up. Hopefully the TV companies ignore him and he can go back to doing something he's good at.

Basically anything not involving our best fighters

 

So when should we expect Kev back in the ring and how long before he is ready for another shot at the big time?

 

I've always found John Murray to be rather arrogant outside the ring, especially when drunk....i remember one particular night he was giving some young student grief and doing the whole "do you know who i am" routine.......Well the student give him a dig and gave him a nice little shiner.....
Oh and Murray should definitely 'talk to frank'........
