The WBO convention has just ended and Bob Arum has been named promoter of the year, Kohl of Universum is European promoter of the year. Frank has to make do with an 'honourable mention' .
Ouch......... Has Arum even promoted that many WBO fights? Then again, the size of the purse dictates the sanctioning fee - most of Frank's cashcows have found pastures new!
No doubt he will be pissed off from this and decide to take his fighters along a different route. All Warren fighters will go the WBC way now.
Warren's fighters won't ever go the WBC route - they never have in 20 years! There is always the WBU, WBF and IBC titles to cherrypick.
We all know the WBO are honourable........ I hear that Jimmy Wilde has been given the #2 ranking at middleweight, because Warren has a decent up and coming fighter at 160.
Didnt he win it last year at the Calzaghe - Kessler show..? how many promoters can really win the WBO promoter of the years though? About 3 geezers? Its probably just handed between Warren, Kohl and Arum from year to year...
