The biggest issue here is not the promoters who would make the fights. It’s the broadcasters.

Let’s take the Yarde vs Buatsi fight both men will likely want atleast £500k for the fight. It’s not a PPV so the broadcaster pays let’s say both front the purse and put it on Saturday fight night. Everyone watches it in BT. Sky would never do another fight again unless it’s PPV. Frank knows that and is under big pressure from BT as they aren’t drawing viewers. BT and Frank have nothing to lose as it they are throwing money away anyway and therefore it only benefits them as Sky are content with the product they have.

all the while one broadcaster is doing ok it’s not going to happen.

unless and this is the only way for it to happen and the way Eddie and Sky should respond is. List the fights smallest to the best work upwards and go pursebids only. Besides the AJ be Fury fight as there’s enough to share. Winner takes all and get the fights on. Some of the fights make little sense if I was Hearn.

if you start with the easier fights like Benn vs Jenkins, Metcalf vs Fowler and go straight to a winner takes all pursebids then the fights get made. Frank knows that but when your averaging 3,000 viewers you have nowhere to go but up.

Take Fury Joshua; who are the people who need to get involved here? Because I’m fairly certain Fury isn’t solely a Warren fighter. In fact, I’m not even sure he’s really a Warren fighter at all. Top Rank promote him and it would appear Frank promotes him domestically (where he no longer fights) and BT hold the TV rights. So that’s not a straightforward one.

Most of the rest? Bluster. Stick them to purse bids and see who wins. Hearn knows it’s one way traffic between the two at this stage. Hearn may be a lot of things but he’s never tried to cheat fighters out of money they earned and everyone knows that means a lot. Chisora and Whyte aren’t going to end up agreeing to the sort of money Warren will stump up and that will be that.

Bit of PR most likely. At least make Warren appear willing. Some of the lower fights are certainly realistic though.

If these fights don’t happen it will be because of Eddie

All of the fights should be realistic but some of them are going to be tricky at this stage. Buatsi for example looks lined up to headline shows on Sky, and Yarde is one of the few who Frank has left who might do the same, albeit he was thrown to the wolves a little with Kovalev and the timing of the fight (hidden away on BT during the weekend when there was a full Premier League programme and Stokes was busy winning an Ashes test on his own) meant it got very little coverage. Hard to see at this point how that would be made given both broadcasters would surely not be pleased sharing the audience.

Joshua Fury has to happen but not sure where it leaves Frank. PPV deal for the UK where you can buy it on both platforms? Feels like negotiations for that fight are centred around Hearn and Arum.

Only boxing fans see something like this and find 100s of ways to **** on it.

We should all be for this and not give these promoters an easy out

    same with calzaghe froch
    and brook khan
    cant have it both ways
fans and fwank alike made every excuse as to why the fans aint important what they want its about a fighters career
well hearn can now play that same game
and excuses should be well accepted as before

We should also question whether based on experience if Frank is being genuine or not. Or whether this is a bit of a ploy to try and remain relevant and take some of the heat off himself.

Very easy to say we want these fights to happen. So what's Frank going to do about it? Send it to purses and lose to Hearn? 'Well all's fair in love and war, at least the fans get the fights.' I doubt it.

Don't anyone act like it's only Frank that stops his fighters going into these fights on other networks, Eddie Hearns made Dave Allen turn down over 100,000 pounds for a fight against Dubios

And rumour has it he got the same to As that for the Price fight. I know If I was him what sounds like value.

May the time of the fight Allen was expected to come and get a hiding and being all of the eyeballs with him. If that was the case he should be fairly compensated.

Rumour is Allen will make similar money for a hughie Fury fight which will involve a lot less damage. Allen isn’t signed to exclusive with Matchroom and knew his own worth declining it himself.

in recent memory only fight between the two was the Galahad vs Warrington fight which Matchroom sent to Warren and didn’t pull him out.
