http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=boxing/08/07/08/manual_093520.html he say halfway through this article that odlh was down 5 times in an earlier fight. i don't think that oscar has been down 5 times in total in his whole career
I think Warren is full of **** about DLH being down five times in a fight. I remember him going down against Quartey (twice I believe) and Hopkins knocked him out with that body shot but other than that, I don't remember him going down at all. Its a strong possiblity that I'm wrong but I've never heard of DLH being down 5 times in one fight. Amatuers maybe?

Well that shows Frank Warren does his homework before he makes a statement regarding another fighter.
So the thread title will be changed to "Frank Warren provides an interesting and factual piece of evidence to effectively defend his young prospect against a press and public looking to write him off" in due course I hope? Just remember Frank Warren is a dick because he knows too much about Boxing not too little!
Guys prospects getting knocked down early in their career's is nothing new nor should it be alarming. It really shouldn't be a suprise that a guy who spent his whole amateur career relying on his reach, speed and hieght to keep him out of the way of big shots is getting caught when he's not supposed to. Cause he's never fought amateurs that can time him well enough to get passed his afformentioned gifts/talents. The positive thing is that it really looks like he's motivated to be great and that he's looking to take the necissary steps to improve his game. He's a really talented young fighter. Getting a top trainer is the right move for him right now. I expect him to be a top fighter in two years.
p.s. I really hope Khan hooks up with Freddy Roach. I think that he would be just guy to polish Khan's skills and make him one deadly boxer/puncher. I think he could do something similar to what he's done with Manny. And thats the way that I'd like to see Khan fighting too so I think it would make for a good combination.
As far as the DLH was knocked down five times in a fight.....thats obviously BS. Either Frank's been mis quoted or his got it mixed up himself. DLH has been knocked down five times in his career. And never more then once in a fight (to my knowledge).
I think Frank Warren might be getting mixed up with Winky Wright who got knock down 5 times in a fight earlier in his career against Julio Vasquez.
