The BT card is not really going up against the DAZN card in the sense that you are emplying. DAZN subscription No’s are under water at the moment, and unless you are a hardcore, you have relatively zero knowledge that Eddie’s Liverpool show exists which is a shame. I was left surprised myself last week when I asked some friends who are casual fans about the Warrington fight and they had no idea that it had taken place. If people were being genuine on this forum and across social media, then a high percentage also cancelled due to the price increase. I can’t see significant new subscribers being attracted to pay for this card, at £7.99 - specially after having to fork out the £25 for AJ a few weeks ago and if they fancy it, another £25 on Fury - Wilder the same night. I’m not hating on DAZN as I sub myself and I won’t be cancelling, but in a business sense, BT have zero to worry about clashing shows.
Nothing to do with Frank? Who arranged a fight with Wilder for the WBC title in Los Angeles? Frank did what Eddie Hearn couldn't do. He made a deal with Shelly Finkel. That's why Fury is a star in the United States and Joshua is nothing more than a footnote.
Only because Wilder's team viewed Fury as a soft touch and it was a cherry pick gone wrong (Wilder accidentally admitted this in a interviewe). Wilder's team want no part of AJ (as per Lou Dibella). AJ sold more tha Wilder in the same city in the same month and that included being at Madison Square Gardens compared to the Barclays Centre.
How is Johnson the headline and 3 weeks out he’s got no opponent? He was meant to fight last weekend on a show, surely that opponent can step in?
I was at the MSG that night and got speaking to a couple of American lads, they were big fans of Fury. Crowd was mostly Brits though.
Caoimhin Agyarko has just signed a management deal with STN Sports/Paul Ready. Agyarko looked one of the better young fighers Frank had so seems like he could be losing another.
