Not exactly a big surprise. I don't know if it's a good career choice.

I feel Frankie got shafted in the last Henderson fight and he proved to me he is top level elite at 155, however I must admit to being excited to see him against Aldo.

One gets the feeling this is the work of Dana in his ear !!

That said , 10 lb's is a walk in the park when you dont cut anyway , it should not hamper him in any way shape or form , so IMHO it can only be a good thing

He doesnt match up to Aldo well unless he fights a wrestling style , not a striker / wrestler style like weve come accustomed too

Aldo aside , im looking through the division and i dont really see anybody even testing him TBH

It's unfortunate that the rightful 155 champ has to drop weight because of corrupt judges.

Edgar vs Aldo has the potential to be a real UFC superfight.

He whined and bitched his way into a rematch he didn't deserve, and then came up on the wrong end of a close fight that could have been scored either way.

I don't feel sorry for him.

Aldo would destroy him, but he can beat everyone else at 145. His chances of getting a belt again are actually better at 155, even if it'd probably take him 2-3 more fights before he gets another title shot there.

Aldo was a bad matchup for Florian because he was technically better at striking and BJJ. Edgar's skill set of side to side and in and out movement isn't something that we've seen Also deal with, particularly late in the fight when he gets tired. Also, Edgar sets up his takedowns much better than guys like Faber as seen in Edgar taking guys like Penn and Maynard down. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get Aldo to the ground.

That'll be a really, really great fight. I hope he gets the shot after only one fight at 145.

Dana mustve said to him clearly that he was a good few fights away from a title shot at 155. One win and he is in a huge fight with Aldo.
