Edgar has the tools to slow the momentum of Orega to a halt, but hard to shake that feeling of an Ortega SUB. He really is one of the most clutch submission guys in the sport currently. Going to go with Orega pulling a late SUB out of the hat while behind on the cards.

I think the physicality of Ortega might be to much. Ortega vs holloway in a 5 rounder is a better fight if you ask me. I love edgar, but we will see.

So clutch with the subs... That's what seals the deal for me. Ortega is far from a perfect fighter but he's got that crazy submission skills to overcome those flaws. Would probably come back to haunt him against Holloway, but it should bail him out against Edgar. We'll see!

I think Ortega will use that big reach advantage he has and his ever improving stand up game could be the deciding factor especially if he can stop the many TD attempts from Edgar who is smart enough to know what he needs to do in this fight.

I have a lot of respect for Edgars skills and his ability to take damage and comeback to win but I cant see him winning here if Ortega is at his best , imo having the overall advantage standing and on the ground. Edgar is a little pitbull that will just keep coming at Ortega trying to get the TD and getting top position where he is outstanding with his pressure and GnP.

Ortega will have been working hard on what to he will do when Edgar has him on his back and I believe he will have the answer to anything Edgar does on the ground. Its a shame its only 3 rounds which may favour Edgar but ultimately I believe Ortega will submit him late or win the decision.

I wouldnt mind seeing Edgar move down to Bantamweight which he has said in the past that he could easily get down to that weight and I think he beats most of those guys even Dillashaw which would be an awesome fight.

Edgar is one of my favorite fighters. Just hope he gets his shot at Holloway before he starts the downslide. He's been around for quite a while, and sooner or later age will catch up to you.

Yeah If he beats Edgar and gets title shot I think Holloway at the moment is to good but it would be a fun fight and start of a good rivalry that I believe Ortega can get the better of Holloway in another year or so.

I'm a big Holloway supporter and tipped him to be the future of the division all the way back in 2013-2014.... Now with that gloating out of the way I wouldn't be shocked if Holloway went on a dominant run that rivaled Aldo's. Kid is that special.

Yeah your definately right he is special and I love his willingness to fight anybody and at only 26 I can see him winning more titles whenever he wants to move up.

It would have been a good fight if Holloway hadnt been injured for this card but I dont think Edgar could beat him and Im not sure he will get the chance now.

I cant see him beating Ortega either here and think his best chance is moving down to Bantamweight and getting a shot at Dillashaw .I guess we will see how he looks in this fight maybe the age catches up with him against Ortega but I did think the same when he ended up easily beating another young prospect Yair Rodriduez in his last fight.

Edgar stops another young buck in his tracks.

When your best chance for victory is catching a submission on guy who has some of the best sub defense in the sport, someone who's NEVER been stopped in their entire career fighting significantly better opp then your chances don't look too good.

Not that I don't rate Ortega I just think it's too much too soon.

Of course this is assuming Edgar hasn't started to decline since his last fight.

This fight will show what Ortega is made of. Is he elite or not ? This fight will answer that question.

I'm picking Edgar to win a decision over 3 rds. I think he will be too active on the feet and if the fight hits the ground I think Edgar is skilled enough as a ground fighter not to get subbed. Really looking forward to the fight.

I was just reading that Conor offered to fight Edgar on this card after Holloway pulled out but UFC declined because there wasn't enough time to generate the money that the UFC would need.

I guess he must be ready to fight so we should expect him to come back soon to fight the Tony vs Khabib winner other wise it may mean he just thinks Edgar is an easy fight .

Sorry don't believe a word of that. Edgar would be an absolute nightmare for Conor. So Conor was happy to jump in on 3 or 4 weeks notice to fight cardio machine Edgar ? BS. If Conor genuinely wanted to fight Tony/Khabib he would have but he seems happy to be stripped of his title which is pathetic really. IMO all 3 of Edgar/Tony/Khabib stop Conor in a 5 rd fight.
