Frankie Gavin, Failed 2 Check Weights.

His last fight was a disaster too, hit some bloke with a bar stool and then sucker punched a bouncer who didn't even flinch.

 

Has there been a more disappointing fighter in recent memory who started his career with such promise and expectation?

 

Being out has probably contributed.. he's never had trouble with welter before.. just light welter.. all those months he was inactive..

 

If you don't struggle.. you're in the wrong weight.. plus 6 pounds isn't much FFS..

 

It's just propaganda if he said he woulda made weight if they allowed him..

 

I thought he had learnt his lesson from the olympics?
i can remember all the newspapers at the time saying how gavin winning gold was a dead cert.

Agreed. I live quite local and would have went but the card is that bad it's not worth going.

 

tickets are 46quid too, its sold 6k tickets which isn't too bad. For some reason matchroom save their worst cards for bham then wonder why it doesn't sell too well.

not sure why kal yafai will be fighting for world title if rumours are true on the AJ undercard in Dec, surely this could headline a bham card?

back to gavin, he's chatting ****, he said he had to weight in 10st 9 or 10, so why did he have to fully strip off? Could he not just have made weight and gone in fully dressed.

Exactly, 20 quid might be reasonable but 46 quid for that card just isn't worth it, not one British title fight, not really any massive names on the card and Frankie Gavin is the main event and he's well known for being boring. A good card would have sold much more than 6k.

Gavin is just so unprofessional, has talent but doesn't seem to apply himself.
