I thought he was meant to be fighting for the Irish or Celtic title?

 

well his propsed opponent for the Irish title, Michael Kelly, had already gone into camp in Belfast so something must have happened.

 

He would beat Daws next week

you are probably right, but daws last opponent was pretty confident to, daws does'nt look spectacular, but he's tough, has a good engine, and more experience, being sensible,were talking and gavins fighting, i know that warren will not risk him this year at least with daws, he will be much more confident with frankies readiness when he's had 3 more fights.
