Not the most reliable source but.... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/more-sport/boxing/2008/08/15/frankie-gavin-turns-pro-115875-20698110/ Apparently he's considering an offer from Goldenboy which could see him make his debut in Vegas in November on the Hatton-Mallignaggi undercard.
that would be awesome, cant wait for him to go pro. just what weightclass will he be looking at??? jr. welter or full welter?? by the way, how tall is he??
I think he will be a full welter eventually, but a LW when he turns pro. He walks around at 71 kg apparently. Good boxer , i think he will go a long way
for a lightwieght thats a very good hieght. but you got to remember the kid is still growing...i just called a guy whos a year younger than me a kidatsch i think he should stick to lightwieght for 2 fights or so (like trinidad did) then when he cant make wieght easily just go up in wieght until he doesnt feel the pinch of draining.
Khan would still eat him for breakfast. GBP must be desperate for a UK boxer to sign up with them 100%.
They are desperate to crack the European market, as there is a lot of untapped talent being held hostage by idiotic promoters such as Warren, Palle and Hennessy. Young prospects need to be matched against each other, not kept at a distance. Not seen enough of Gavin to see whether he can crack the pro game, suppose the proof will be in the pudding.
