So what happens now then, do Britain fly down another fighter in that division to fill the void, or cant they compete in that dividion?

He has been fight at an artificially low weight. Gavin has not been a natural lightweight for at least a year. He was never going to be able to remain at this weight for the entire tournament.

Terry Edwards was just on BBC news claiming they tried everything to get the weight down and had a nutritionist. Kerry Kayes claims he could have got the weight off safely etc, looking at what he does with Hatton I am inclined to believe him rather than the likes of Edwards and other farts at the ABA.

He said he only had 2lbs to lose last week. Surely weight management would have been on the top of agenda for some of these boys.

Same for the lad but also a shame as someone else has missed the chance to box.

Boxers needed to have qualified for the Games. The spot will stay empty.

Fck off ***** ass. Which nutritionist is this ? It is not Kerry !! Why would Gavin go to Kerry if the team GB nutritionist was the dogs bollocks ?

It is obvious that the GB team were full of gobshites like you hence why Gavin went to Kerry. Its a shame Kerry could not have been incorporated into the GB team as MAYBE it would have beena different story with Gavin.

What a shame, i dont think we had another boxer that would have qualified in the weightclass anyway?
Wonder what Gavin will do now, its likely he'll have a bright future!

Kurt you havent got a clue what you are talking about thats for sure Team GB are lucky to have his expertise, funny how the other seven havent had trouble isnt it. Hes the nutritionist at the institute of Sport a very good Triathlete Qualifications as long as your arm. Is Kerry qualified.

Qualifications mean **** if you can't do your job. Kerry Kayes has proven time and again with Hatton that he can get fighters down to their fighting weight.

Bunce posted here that they'll get £50k per year if they stay amateur for 2012 (if you're talking ams)

I also read that Billy Joe gets £18k at present and it's tax free
