he has some of the most delusional fans. i've read comments on this forum that frankie gavin would beat tim bradley, khan and maidana:rofl really? he'd get stretched out by all 3 inside 4 rounds, dont talk about you're boy beating up guys at the world stage when his best win to date is denton vassell and a 40 year old junior witter :patsch

When (I know this is the main problem at the moment) Frankie gets stepped up I genuinely believe people will take notice of what a sublime talent he really is. I'd have him making Bundu look incredibly average as I would with Senchenko. I also believe he'd beat Brook and Khan. I wouldnt throw him in with Maidana (certainly not now anyway) because I believe he is underated as hell nor the other 'top dogs' yet but I CERTAINLY believe he's good enough to mix at that level in the near future.

The lad has a brain like i've not seen from a British fighter in a long long time.

I would not write off Gavin at a world class level because he is not that great a puncher. Around his division fighters like Locche, Mamby and of a more recent vintage, Malignaggi have shown you can still be world class with limited power.

He looks exceptionally talented and has had a bit of a education too, which seems unusual for fighters now a days. As mentioned he has been in a fight where he is was in peril, and he overcame that and hopefully learnt from the experience.

I think last night he was going through the motions, I believe he is ready to step up a level.

Yes all about opinions & Gavin divides most more than others.

When stepped up I am in the camp of he will make some good fighters look ordinary he needs to now have those fights & then we will see.

Gavin's career to date is all about what if's & I have seen it before with fighters waiting too long to get in the mix sometimes you have to believe the fighter can make the leap in levels Bundu next is a must for me.

His lazy lifestyle will catch up with him. He's fighting 2 weight classes above where he should be, I still find it difficult to believe him when he says he can't make 140. Won't make it more like. The punishment he's put his body through would make it difficult but if he put the work in he could easily do it. Delusional to be calling out khan. He's 28 and still at domestic level FFS

Think with Gavin when u see him at World class level where they are going for the ko punch u will see the best of him. Have to be honest the Barnes and last night fight doesn't do him any favours. Would love to see him fight Bundu

On these forums power and a chin is more important than footwork, defence etc. Gavin would beat Brook easily.

Doesn't look look like he should be in that division. He does say that he struggles to get up for fights like last night and you see a better version of him in bigger fights. He is the most unintimidating looking fighter with his lack of power and doughy physique

Gavin has a great jab and footwork but he has still got an amateur style, fact.

If his cardio isn't up to scratch he'd soon get found out by the likes of MM, as FG wouldn't have the power to keep him away. And the only way you beat Khan, bar Peterson (who was huge) is to spark him out. Gavin isn't sparking anyone out soon, as seen by last night's performance.

Frankie should just go for the Euro now and take only meaningful fights now.

He needs to drop down a class.

Exactly. Boxers cannot have off nights or improve as their career progesses and they step up in opposition. To think such a thing is absolutely ludicrous.
