Was surprised when i saw this post and i must say, i could see where your coming from if you are referring to Frankie heading to London........any person......loves a bigger city (ok........some)

AA is a bad example or reference given the boys scenario.

As am sure you will agree, seeing AA change trainers etc was frustrasting but yes......as mentioned, you do what you feel is right.

Personally, if he is going to Tibbs, he is not only serious (many are i know) but it shows he really does want it as from what i know and have learnt..........Tibbs keeps ya tight.

Thinking of this actually, i remember Billy N when asked how Burns got on with Mitchell (when he was down for the week) said it was a delight to work and learn of such a trainer.

    Was nice to read that........

Anways, will read this thread.............still shocked tbh..........kinda.

    :thumbsup

Now that i have read through the thread, one thing that strikes me......and it aint the GO TO THE STATES !!!! BETTER SPARRING !!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, thats all very well and good.........difference is, having a mentor is more important.......someone consistent (am sure Arnie was)..........i think it was on a Frankie Gav thread i previously mentioned this.

Anyways, I reckon they was too close, of course in a good way............and of course with no disrespect to younger or newer trainers believe..............fighters need fathers/mentors.

I know theres other factors regarding the split.....as has been mentioned and it aint for me to fire of randomness.

Anyways, wish you both well.........Arnie also, cant be nice seeing people leave.

I also think Arnie has his hands tied to some extent, regardless of this current situation.

Heres my opinion and am probably way of the mark.........

Varren expects results.........exciting ones, Varren aint happy......so he moves them on (call it a showroom perhaps)

I say this presuming Arnie is working for Varren (wasnt this the deal previously)......correct me if am wrong.

Whats your your thoughts on this Lirva ?

    Am i right/wrong.....riding a tangent ?

You do realise.......like anything, that the part is not always the problem, it can also be the designer.

i understand your point. its plausible. however you are theorising and speculating. i utilise occams razor in these types of situations - the simples solution is usually the correct one. bomber and gavin have left. they both had poor performances before leaving. they didnt seem to be listening to farnell. they seemed to be the bosses. gavin was eating shite while training. they both said farnell was like their best mate. their "reasons" for leaving are not convincing and laughable in bellews case.

it doesnt take einstein to work it out mate

good luck to frankie and arnie, going to tibbs may give frankie a bit of much needed aggression as well as his boxing skills.
    tibbs is a great trainer

Is he actually going to Tibbs then? Thought he just said London...

Just a thought as someone mentioned Degale should go to Tibbs: if Gavin's problems are motivation/conditioning wouldn't he be better off with Mcdonnell? and Degale with Tibbs...

Afterall ESB thinks highly of Mcdonnell

Mcdonnell is ****. An awful, awful trainer and not much cop as a fighter in his day either. Tibbs is a better choice, especially with conditioning too.

I think Jeffries' problem is that he's just not capable of following the instructions that Brooks gives him.

The advice was absolutely bang on in the corner for the most part, but for some reason he can't stop himself from bumrushing in recklessly and allows the opponent to get away with the most basic tricks.

Failing to stop a guy shouldn't be the benchmark, but when you're being easily extended by a smaller, pretty low skilled opponent questions need to be asked. At the very least, dominate him, show him who's boss etc.

Hell, if Maloney won't defend you.....

He could work with any trainer in the history of boxing and still struggle, he could even have two at once, one working on defence and the other on attack..... it just isn't there.

Jeffries will walk into huge counters when he steps up in class because he is wide open for them when he bum rushes in.

I don't think Brooks will stay with him if he keeps underperforming like this. He needs to start listening. Brooks gave him a D for that performance, which is an awful mark.
