Unbeaten prodigy Frankie Gavin admits he is making up for lost time as he finally bids to win the British title on Thursday.

Only fought 13 times and is 27 year-old a former amateur World Lightweight Champion.

Not sure if the Yanks have seen much of him, but obviously has the skills. I think he has/had a problem with disicipline in terms of his weight & diet.

He fighting former Light-Welter Weight Champion Junior Witter. Interesting to see how he goes.

Is it too late for him to capture a World Title, Thoughts?

I would say its not too late with his skill set, he just needs to keep focus,i cant blame him for his bad patch what he went through outside the ring would screw up most inside and affect them in the ring.

His punch variety is very good as well as his workrate, reminds me a bit of calzaghe but he has a better defence. His punch power is what many question but can only wait and see

He needs to get a move, i think he will look good against Witter, he's a a in good division, plenty of opportunities for him.

Gavin has a lot of class but Witter is awkward and hard to look good against unless even if you are a top fighter. I can see him getting frustrated tonight with the clinching and wouldn't be suprised if he gets cut again the way Witter falls in after his wild swings. He's going to have to grind out a points win imo.
