That'll be one of the major reasons why Warren has gone for this fight now, not that Frankie mightn't be able to handle Cook anyway but as we all know Warren is very careful in the way he handles fighters(especially when there isn't a title on the line), and often big step ups come in situations like this, where the opponent hasn't had the same amount of time to prepare. Will be a very interesting fight anyway, this intrigues me more than Bellew vs McKenzie II did anyway, even though the chance of an upset are probably even less.
Big mouth on yeah there Big Dunk. I don't go on the **** with bitches because I don't like the stories they tell to make them fell important. Short prep time for Cook and brave of him to go for it. Frankies faith will depend on Frankie, but the talent is there.
Defo going to bring the best out of Frankie this fight and push him on. Lokking forward to following this lads career and being a fan of his. Big potential.
Cookie was scheduled to box March 5th in Huddersfield, but that's still several weeks away when training to peak at a certain time. Either way, Jason Cook is still a very dangerous guy to take on, and whilst the short notice does put him at a disadvantage, it by no means makes him any less a threat. Jason has a ton of experience, and won the European title abroad on short notice too. So don't underestimate Cookie - whether he has five days or five months of preparation! Big step up for Frankie Gavin, and much respect to him for taking this fight. Should be a thriller.
I'm not over the moon bout this fight. I followed cook for years and know he aint what he used to be and dont want gavin to pot shot the **** outta him when hes not at his best, but i suppose this is boxing and it happens in most fights. Cook should've stayed retired imo
