Frankie Gavin v Lee Purdy

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by Mayers, Apr 4, 2012.

  1. Subject to getting Purdy ;)

If you'd deliberately tried to **** Gavin's career up from the word go you'd have probably fared better than Allegedly has, I'm afraid.

No he didn't. Curtis put up a good effort, but frankie controlled him. This is more received wisdom bull****.

Isn't there a rule if you withdraw from a mandated eliminator (unless ur injured) you can be excluded from British title for a year? Worth checking that - it might be if you pull out pre-bids, post-bids or both.

If lynes wins you probably find he with vacate

  8. I doubt it, he'll want one for keeps.

He struggled. He won. But he struggled.

My opinion is different from yours. So sorry.

Only has to win his next one for keeps

  11. Does he?

I thought he'd have had to win four fights at 147.... he's got 2 at 140 and 1 at 147....

Not sure he'd vacate, I'd like him to hang onto it as long as he can, not sure he's got what it takes to move up in class anymore, he's not been the same since the ''loss'' to Branco.

Lynnes wont vacate i think he would love to have his last fight againts an up and coming fighter in Frankie Gavin it would be the perfect way to bow out if he is planning to quit this year.

You are going to have to get a move on Frankie mate. You should be at that level instead of fighting journeymen.
