    The only Ever English boxer to win gold.

    Amazing achievement, he was an exceptional amateur, he won gold in every tournament he entered and was favourite to win gold at the Olympics.
    he beat Domenico Valentino & Alexsei Tischenko

    Do you people know about Tischenko.This guy was the p4p number 1 amateur boxer at the time..He was the Lomachenko at that time.hes one of the best amateur boxers ever.

    Tischenko's record
    Olympic Gold x 2
    World championship Gold, and Bronze ( cause of gavin)
    European Gold x 2

    It's shame Tischenko never turned pro.. he would have been right up there with the likes of Klistchko, Lomachenko,Golovkin, etc.
    I'm surprised this win doesn't get mentioned much when talking about Gavin.

    Gotta be the best ever win by a brit in amateur boxing ever.. don't you think?

    Great achievement but he is a pro now, it means nothing anymore. I think he can become a good pro but just not at welterweight.

    People say the same for billy joe Saunders. Just because they lack power, draining fighters is a terrible idea especially if they are lacking power and stamina.

    Much weaker division globally, but he never looks in great shape or certainly not in the fights I have seen.

    He always say he cant manage it when asked...

    I don't know I think he probably could.. but be he seems to have a settled home life now with his mrs and kids and I wonder if the drive is not there anymore. Maybe he just doesn't have the physical tools to go with his technique and skill level.

    He lost to Bundu in a close fight but if he has aspirations of world honours he should be winning fights like this - he wont beat Brook if that comes off and he wouldn't have beaten Bradley if that had been the case. The Van Heerden fight was ideal really winnable over a decent operator..

    He looked great against Denton Vassell but hasn't come close to that since

    Exactly! Great achievement, but it was in 2007. That was in a past decade!

    Mate, I reckon Gavin can do it. And in fact, I will bet on him doing so.

    Brook will be hitting thin air if he meets Gavin.

    As a Pro Gavin is average, why can't you guys grasp this?. Brook vs Gavin is a mismatch. Gavin won't win a round and will be dropped 2 or 3 times and stopped.

    Imagine his moobs drooping over his waistband. Disgusting. Suppose he could tuck em in.

    Barry and Eddie both to blame for me. From my understanding is Frampton would get 1.5 Million Quigg gets a set fee plus a percentage of ppv sales
