Who remembers this man ? He belonged to the George Francis stable in the seventies. He lost to Tony Sibson, then seemed to fall off the radar. Any idea what became of him ?
Funny Enough, Frankie was not deemed good enough to represent the British Team at the Ametuer Commonwealth Games (can not recall what year 71 ? ) so he represented St Lucia and Won ! He was nicknamed "Wildman" and was indeed a wild tough handful, - but Middles with world class talent could defuse him, Frankie's Hot Head led him into trouble when a calmer approach may of been more effective for him, but he was very exciting because of his zest for attacking, Ran onto a big Sibbo left hook and got taken out in the 5th, Sibbo was only a youngster, but he could punch and Frankie did not show Sibbo the respect he deserved, and paid the Price. Kevin Finnegan, that Superb Pro, Matadored Frankie and stopped him on a cut eye in the 11th as i recall. Frankies american ambitions were upset by another fine boxer in Willie "The Worm" Monroe and Frankie Faded pretty quickly after that A tought guy if you traded with him, but a guy with class skills could use Frankie's Over Commitment to attack with minimal defence against him But Frankie certainly brought his brand of Excitment to British Rings By the Way, I think Frankie would of had a great War with Frank Fletcher The two Franks - The "Wildman" vs The "Animal" - not for the faint hearted ! I am not sure what Frankie is doing now, but i hope he is well and happy.
