Who wins this if both fought in their respective 140 lb primes I feel Randall would outbox Kostya and stop him probably with the straight right hand. I know Kostya is in the Hall of Fame but he was stopped by Vince Phillips, who I don't think was as good as Randall. I feel Kostya was too straight up and was prone to being hit with good right hands.
Anyone who gets KO'd as easily as Randall could be ain't gonna last with Kostya. Phillips took bombs from Tszyu and survived them and got to the Russian Aussie in the 10th. Randall would be long gone before then.
Easily kod? Not in his prime. He had one Ko loss in 87 and that was his only ko loss until 1997. Randall went 10 close rounds with a prime Edwin Rosario and twice battled toe to toe with Chavez. I think you must only be looking at the tail end of Randall's career to make such a judgement.
You are about as clever as the geezer above you, who claims Randall went 87 fights only getting KO'd once. In fact he only had 77 fights and was first KO'd in his 33rd, at Lightweight. He then went another 25 fights before being KO'd again by Rahilou. Now when I went to school 33 and 25 made 58, perhaps it's different these days. Now I would hazard a guess that neither Ramos or the aforementioned Rahlou hit nothing like as hard as Tszyu. He also mentions Chavez. Thats how long I see Randall lasting against the hardest puncher he would ever have faced in KT. 6 rounds. He might even throw the Zab Judah chicken dance in for good measure. AS I said what you know about ANYTHING never mind boxing could be written on a pinhead and still leave room for War and Peace. Muppet.
The Randall of the 1st Chavez fight would have been too smart for Kostya...he would have copped a close 12 round decision, IMO.
People are totally underestimasting Tszyu on this board, and I can only assume they haven't seen many of his fights. This was a guy who was a very very good boxer with devastating power particularly in his right hand. However his best asset was his patience. He didn't go steaming in looking for the KO. If the opportunity arose he would take it, but he was more than happy to box the other guy and win on points. If you look at the cards on his distance fights you will see that Oktay Urkal was probably the nearest margin. most he won by very wide margins.
I meant the year 1987 not 87 fights. And you can stop with the insults. It only highlights your obvious insecurity.
I'm not underestimating him. Randall had a lethal straight right, better than anything Vince Phillips had in his ****nal and Phillips Ko'd Kostya with a series of right hands. Even a faded Roger Mayweather hit Kostya repeadedly with straight rights. Overall, Kostya's comp. was pretty weak. Chavez was totally washed up when he beat him. Kostya's best win was Zab Judah. Other victims included Sharmba Mitchell who was pretty weak chinned amd Miguel Gonzales, who was past his best. The rest of his victims were pretty nondescript. Then he was kod by Hatton. None of Kostya's wins was as good as what Randall did in beating Chavez in Jan. 94. I think its even debatable whether Tszyu could have beaten a Juan Coggi.
