I’ve met him a couple times and found him to be a really nice guy. I know that he’s had his issues though.

Frankie was a drug addict who had lived in his car. Randalls best is better than Kostya

Oh I don’t doubt he is nice. Anthony Mundine is also a really nice guy, he gave up his seat so I could sit with my family on a flight about 5 years ago.

What does it say for Kostya beating a much worse version of Julio 6 years later?

Chavez was still very good when Randall beat him. You can practice revisionist history but few saw Chavez as slipping much when he faced Randall. Even after the Whitaker robbery a few months earlier Julio was still in everyone's Pound for Pound top 3 or 4. I think the Chavez that Randall beat would have a shot against the best version of Tzyu and the best 140 lb version of Chavez would almost certainly beat him. Of course that version of Chavez would beat Randall as well.

If you analyse Tszyu's two losses they were both avoidable. In particular, the loss to Philips, which is a stain on his record, but to which the detractors always turn. Without going into specifics, it was not a great time personally for Tszyu, in a fight that he was winning, but instead of boxing, which he was well capable of, he kept slugging and gassed and got caught with too many punches.

Against Randall, that version of Tszyu may not win, that is, the under prepared boxer with the rash mentality.

However, a fully prepared and focused prime Tszyu would be able to time and hit Randall.

Tough fight to call, I think Tszyu is underrated being an Australian with little exposure in the USA, and his losses to Philips and Hatton.

When Kostya was "on", he went like a knife through butter in defeating quality opposition, not many boxers are capable of such feats.

Losing to Vince Phillips isn't a disgrace. Had Vince not got tangled up in drugs he would have had a different career.
He also turned out to be a pretty good champion anyways. Very skilled operator with a big righthand and he really went to the body very well.
Had a couple of forays at Welter that was a mistake.
KT gets stopped by Vince and Ramdall gets blown out in TWO by Ramos and nobody says anything about that?
Randall was a good boxer and he did have a good righthand.
I saw his second bout vs Pendleton and I honestly thought he lost and was lucky to get a draw.
Had he not got tangled up in a bad lifestyle we could possibly be talking different about his career as well.
I'm not sold on Chavez being at the top of his game vs Randall but nonetheless a great win for Randall and he followed that up with a great win vs Coggi.
In thi fight I think KT gets Randall as He's physically stronger of the two in my opinion and he has power in BOTH hands.
Think it would be a great bout.
