http://bjpenn.com/mmanews/2012/02/2...dgar-won-talks-event-controversies-15702.html Dana thinks Edgar won. And I completely disagree with those strike stats. I know what I saw, drunk or not.
Sweet game plan All you nuts just picked Benson, cause you hate Frankie for beating B.J twice..get over it it was B.Js time to pass the belt..you guys know Frankie won, you guys all week before the fight were sayin **** about him. Well gues what ? Your man crush B.J had Frankie winning 4-1 90% of the fighters in the UFC had Frankie winning its a coincidence that only b.j Penn .com are where the majority of the benson pickers are not any other mma sites.. Remember when 90 percent of the fighters thought marquez won against pacqiauo. Basically its butthurt BJ fans and Jersey shore haters against fighters opinions. Yea, you keyboard warriors know better though don't you, you dorrito eating BOBBLESLOBS.
How did he clearly win the 5th? Again the most definitive shots were landed by henderson. He was pressing the action and he landed a huge jumping knee which he followed up with GnP on the ground. That was the key event in that round. To those who think that Edgar legitimately knocked down Henderson in the 5th round. Look again. Check out the gifs. Frankie and Ben's Legs crossed paths as Frankie was throwing that shot whilst moving laterally. Ben didn't have solid footing when frankie threw that shot. He was completely there and alert and didn't look the least bit hurt. Frankie didn't actually LAND more. With lots of movement he gave the illusion of doing more. When he would throw those combinations up the center Ben was consistently countering him with a short right hook on the inside that many are failing to recognize. He was landing heavy body kicks. Catching them after impact doesn't nullify the kick. He was landing heavy knees in every round. His shot's clearly had more significant imapct and ben was the more effective fighter. Even without the upkick and the bleeding ben was still the more effective fighter.
The argument that one guy won because his face wasn't as busted up as his opponent is ****ing ******ed. Not that I don't think there's an argument Bendo won, because I've already said it was a very close fight, but that reasoning is dumb as ****.
Aldo makes 145, could Hendo? Aldo is 1 inch bigger, Hendo is 3 inches bigger. Aldo may be a 155 fighter very soon. Nevertheless, its a huge fight and worth having.
Imo Henderson clearly won rds 2 and 4 with the other 3 rds were fairly hard to score with Edgar possibly landing more but Henderson doing ALL the damage. If anyone scored this to Edgar they gave him EVERY benefit of the doubt. I thought Henderson won. Sets up a great rematch with Pettis. Their first fight is the best MMA fight I have ever seen.
I don't know if you're aware of this, but categories in combat sports are determined by weight. Edgar walks around at about 160. Aldo walks around closer to 180. It's been mentioned several times on UFC broadcasts and in the MMA media that Aldo has been making his cut to 145 from close to 170 since he started fighting in the UFC. Maybe you should know the lay of the land before trying to condescend to anybody.
I loathe B.J. and was glad to see him lose to Edgar especially the second time when he got tooled. Bendo won the fight.
