at the stage khan is at in his career now, hamed was fighting for the wbo title. he only thought a world champion who was continental class at best (steve robinson) but he was fighting at a much higher level than khan.

gomez isn't even elite at local level

warren is a leech but amir is young so there's no rush.
however i agree warren is a waste of time and milks his fighters.

i agree that fw is a leach but he is right in matching khan carefully. amir is a creation of the media and its in all parties interests that they make as much money as possible

he can be a world champion in time but he will never be the monster that the british media and ITV are making him out to be. warren has done a great job in creating this myth that makes a lot of money for all parties concerned

when warren has promoted true atg's like marco antonio barerra, he has not held them back from fighting elite boxers

he can't be blamed for nobody wanting to fight calzaghe for years. he was ducked for good reasons

    well said.

it's unfortunately a recipe calzaghe has subscribed to and prevented him from really testing himself.

like i've said before, this is why i have 10 times the respect for ricky hatton for having the character to get out from under warren and actually find out how good he is.

    You know what...

Looking at Hattons career pre Warren it is clear that his stranglehold on British boxing is not gonna last for long.

Can anyone remember all the F@@@@@g threats we used to get on some of the old forums from him. I swear he even got one shut down. Anyone that doesnt let his punters air their views deserves to lose his business.

You dont bite he hand that feeds you.

he admits he doesn't have problems making weight.

he only weighs about 6 or 7ibs over the lightweight limit apparently.

don't worry i had a laugh alright, he and fw are too scared to put him against any british chamption or european champs.
FW's policy is always spot who the weakest belt champion is and target themselves on that. Everyone YOU CAN FORGET IT if you think fw will put him against the top 5 people in the division JUST FORGET that **** amir likes getting paid to fight bums

Amir hasn't fought anyone who can punch yet - he hasn't ducked Thaxton and Romanov for nothing, but the wider boxing fraternity and casual sports fan in the UK aren't being fooled, they know when someone is yanking their chain, so to speak....

Classic quotes from Khan state that not only is he above domestic level, but also above European level too, but that begs the question - why not just ****ing prove it, by beating Thaxton and Romanov??

Instead we get some no-mark Danish chump, with the classic line, 'he has never been stopped' - well I don't think I would have been stopped if I had fought a similar level of opponent, and now Michael Gomez - fair enough he will take Amir places he has never been before, but he was KTFO in a British SFW challenge last year, and the guy who beat him was KTFO not long after!!

I don't think for one minute that Khan will spend his entire career with Warren.

Ol'fisheye won't be able to tolerate a fighter daring to have a mind of his own, never mind negotiating his own television deals.

Gomez was a pisshead, not a world class boxer, don`t care how high he was rated no never went in with anyone with real world class.Alex Arthur wasn`t even at his peak when Gomez ko`d him. That`s the best victory he`s ever had.Gomez had potentail but threw it away and even though Amir Khan shouldn`t be bothering with this ****er he will still knock him out anyway.

Frank Warren has a reputation for spoonfeeding nobodies to his golden boys and building up an artificial unbeaten streak.

I think its fair to say that your typical fight fan is hoping he'll get a decent fight against a decent opponent pretty soon to actually prove that he is all that they make him out to be. I don't want to watch him walk over journeymen, I want to see him in a fight. I don't fall for all the smoke and mirror bull**** they have surrounded him in.

I was actually cheering on Limond when he fought Khan as well.
