WHY DONT YOU GET YOUR SELF A BBBoC regulation book first then you may understand, Regulation 5.15 of the rules+regulations No boxer resident in the teritory and holding a valid BBBoc license, shall take part in any contest or exibition outside the duristriction of the BBBoC,without obtaining the prior written permission of the board, In fact they cannot even sign a contract until such permission has been granted, and permision must be applied for 14 days prior. Read the rules and regs as i am not going to recite the book to you. you will also find 5.16 interesting.
I think the whole point is that this BBBofC regulation book, and in particular the Regs you quote are most certainly illegal under EU labour laws
Firstly, attitude noted, but really not necessary in what I had intended to be a mature discussion from two opposing viewpoints. The point I am trying to make is on what grounds would the board refuse to grant permission for the fighter to take part? As I previously mentioned they do it every weekend all over the world; they have not banned either fighter here, in fact they made it quite clear that Dereck Chisora was free to fight under another governing body, that is what he is doing here. I am struggling to see how they can choose not to allow these fighters permission, on what legitimate grounds?:huh
Surely the board would have to give a legitimate reason, they can't just take a fighters licence for no reason, and I don't see how they can use appearing on this show as a reason. It is a legitimate fight card, sanctioned by a recognised professional body.
I suppose there saying that any fwank fighter can never fight for the Lonsdale Belt:| Frank Bruno never bothered:smoke
The Board already have a legitimate reason. They are the recognised controlling body for boxing within the U.K. their rules are quite clear. Without quoting all of the Rules and Regulations, in essence they are saying that a Boxer may fight as a licensed member of any recognised organisation but if you hold a BBBoC licence a boxer cannot at the same time hold a licence from another licensing body. If a boxer or a manager holding a BBBoC licence wishes to fight on an event run by another licensing body, whether within the U.K. or abroad, they can only do so with the permission of the BBBoC. A failure to get the Board's permission is a breach of the Board's rules and they can revoke their licence. The Haye Chisora fight is not recognised by the Board and they have made it clear that they will not give permission for anyone holding a BBBoC licence to take part in that event, which they are fully entitled to do. It's a case of fight under our licence or someone else's but not both. At the moment it is only the Luxemberg organisation but what if Allegedly and 5 or 10 other people decide to set up a Boxing Board? There is no reason why they shouldn't. Each one having an English and a British title fight. We would be as bad, if not worse than the World sanctioning bodies. We could have 5 or 6 English and British champions and not know who the best one is. Be very careful what you wish for before you start supporting Allegedly's position. We would all like to see Haye v Chisora but the confrontational way that Allegedly has gone about this is bad for boxing in the U.K.
It cannot be because of safety reasons. Not just because the Federation has the same procedures as the Board, but also because the Board took no sanction against Promoter Barry Hearn after he ignored the Board’s refusal to grant Julian Jackson a licence to fight in the UK against Herol Graham and staged the fight in Spain. Indeed, the Board supplied officials for that fight and gained financially. Further, whilst the Board has been found guilty of negligence (in relation to Michael Watson), the Federation has had no such decisions against it; One right to the Solar Plexus their, F-WAR's Round 10-8 :vonnecunt
Jonny is clearly an idiot - that would be constructive dismissal, restriction of trade and punitive action.
Just because tens of thousands will pay to see it, doesn't mean they are better fighters ! They are selling it on personalities, and a bit of controversy. It's not because Haye and Chisora are amazing fighters or sure to put on a great fight. Downtown Abbey gets 8 million viewers, doesn't mean I'm going to start watching it like some stupid zombie sheep and declare it the greatest show on TV. It must be great, everyone watches it. atsch For ****'s sakes, David Haye was PATHETIC in his last fight. He's a ****ing joker. The fact that people are now taking him seriously despite his cowardly performance and post-fight toe excuse, and queueing up to pay good money to see him, is PROOF that the public are as gullible as ever. I think it was a boxing promoter who once said "Never under-estimate the gullibility of the paying public." ..... that rings true in this hour more than ever. :good
