Think many viewers have dropped out during the main event. Otherwise, it has been a classic friday night at York Hall by Boxxer. Better than expected.

Whether it's in a fight or sparring, Clarke boxes in exactly the same way. Monotonous and boring, but it's effective.

Fell asleep after the 3rd round. It’s not looking good for Big Fraze - no wonder Ben wanted to stall the fight and get Wardley signed up at the same time.

 

Please, that and any Terri Harper fight is really painful
Catterall and Edwards too but one elite and other is World level at least

I switched off last night. I'd recorded it to timeshift the amount of nonsense in between bouts but even so it just wore me down and by the time I watched Wach doing his thing I'd had enough.

Things which annoyed me....

Give over about how the boxers walking half a mile from the hotel was to save the environment and not just a pragmatic way of getting some time filling visuals and saving on hire cars.

I thought the only halfway decent fight was Mckenna and Lima, but even that wasn't great. Credit to Lima who was a late replacement with heart, but Mckenna doesn't look great on this showing, southpaw or not.

Otherwise it just felt meh from start to finish. Maybe I'm just down on boxing at the moment but I'm normally well up for the York Hall domestics, but last night it just seemed to fall flat. meh meh meh!

 

Against Binmen, school janitors and a 42 year old yeah.

 

Just stuck it on whilst rain stops play at Edgebaston. I always thought this guy was awful and he’s not doing anything to prove me wrong. Wach looks ready for a heart attack.

 

Makes me think how he managed to win gold at the Commonwealth and bronze at the Olympics. I know pro boxing is very different to amateur but am I missing something? Is he just underperforming? Or was it a bad crop of boxers at those competitions?
