Frazier-Ali I: Did anyone score it for Ali?

I tried to, I just couldn't do it.

 

In the last 2 rounds Frazier made it clear he was the boss that night.

 

Joe won that fight at the worst 9 -6 im afraid

Clean EFFECTIVE punching was where Joe won the fight. Frazier hurt Ali many times throughout the fight and Ali only hurt Joe once (in the 9th)

 

I scored it for Ali... and so did Larry Merchant who was a journalist at the time... i dont remember my scorecard though

 

Ali only won 5 rounds. He did not throw enough punches.

 

i definitely thought frazier won that fight. i can't remember how i had it scored, but i definitely had frazier up at least 2 rounds.

 

even when i tried to score it for Ali it was clear joe won, it was a great victory for him that night.

 

c'mon---joe easy. i had him up before the knockdown.....

 

8-7 for Frazier.

Maybe 8-6-1.

And Ali is my favourite alltime boxer.

 

Yeah, this is a close but clear win for Smokin' Joe. Nobody can convincingly score it for Ali.

 

I'm an all time Ali fan but to me, Smokin' Joe won that fight.

9-6 Victory for Joe is as generous as I can possibly be to Ali.
You'd have to be extremely bias in favour of Ali's style to convince yourself that he won.

 

close but convincing win for Smokin Joe who was just unstoppable that night, in his absolute prime put on a great performance, i do think this fight took more outta him then it did Ali though ironic because the Trilla in Manila took more outta the winner as well...funny how it works.

Oh just to add the Ali of the late sixties boxes circles around Frazier (had they met without the 3 years gap, which they were on course to do) what made the 3rd fight so great was they were just about level in the "washed up" stakes.
