Just watched Smokin Joe Frazier tko9 Jimmy Ellis at St Kilda footy oval Melbourne early in 1975 . Ellis competitive early rounds but a sluggish slow Smokin Joe eventually puts enough heat on a nearly shot Ellis for the referee the Legendary light heavyweight champion Bob Foster to stop it in the 9th . Question is this version of Frazier is light years away from the few months away version of Frazier that takes Ali to the doors of hell in Manilla which is genually acclaimed by most boxing expects as the big daddy of heavyweight fights . Really true hatred of a opponent sure is a fighters greatest asset. Thoughts.

Hatred is a great motivator in any sport. It's often the thing that helps you go the extra yard in training as well as in the actual contest.

Watch frank ropis vs Barry Michael, the hatred frank had for Barry was etched in his face

The two hard nuts went hammer & tongue for 11 rounds during the heat of Ash Wednesday and Frank the Tank - driven by the devil - didn't take one backward step. One of our best ever local wars :good
