Frazier v Holyfield

Holyfield would control with his size and strenth same he did tyson and tysons was faster and had more power then frazier

 

Holyfield's best bet would be to stick and move early on. If he can't keep Frazier off with his sharp combos then I think Frazier drags him in an inside brawl and beats him down late in the fight. In the early rounds I'd say holyfield has a lot of success though.

Cooper pretty much was a poor man's frazier. And he managed to completely stop holy. Against Frazier his chances or survival would be slimmer. Frazier would stop him, given the chance.

 

This would be a brutal war where neither guy would be the same. These guys have a lot of the same mental attributes and strong will.

Many people would assume that because Holyfield handled Tyson’s style he would handle Frazier's, but Frazier was a better fighter then Mike and a whole different animal mentally. Frazier was also a better pressure and inside fighter then Tyson. He also had much better stamina and didn't get discouraged when things weren't going his way, he would just try harder and harder. Frazier was extremely strong physically too, real natural strength.

Holyfield went "life and death" with Qawi who was actually more similar to Frazier. I think this fight would go the distance with both guys taking huge amounts of punishment and not giving in. Holyfield threw the more judge friendly punches and combinations but i think Frazier could hurt Evander more. I think Frazier starts smoking late and does enough to get a decision.

 

Frazier's so called greatest victory was some **** called the Fight of the Century where he barely a rusty, over-rated has-been.

Regarding D.T.'s post, I thought Frazier had faster hands that Holyfield, particularly on the inside.

 

The type of hook Frazier hit Bob Foster with might end the fight early....if Holy tries to box & move at the first of the fight.

 

I disagree about speed, offense and stamina.

i think using the cooper fight as a yardstick is trite..cooper was a late substitute for francesco damiani as i recall, a fighter who had a comp,etely different style than cooper which kinda ****ed up evanders game plan, also given the perceived lack of qulaity of cooper, and evanders desire to 'put on a show' in his hometown, he fought a stupid fight..but dont forget, he still stopped smokin bert after those fraught moments

i think evander is very much underrated in a head to head comparison rather than based on achievements...sure he wasnt flashy, aesthetically pleasing fighter, but he was always in shape, had one of the best chins in boxing in hos prime, a huge heart and a huge desire to win...

that said, im ahuge frazier fan...and joe had a;ll those things too..plus a more focussed, brutal body attack...i can see this, becausse of the styles and the fact that vander could be drawn into a brawl, going smokin joes way...but not measily...maybe 60/40 joe wins.....but i wouldnt be surpsied if either man wa sgiven a close points win here after one of the fights of any decade

 

I cannot pick a winner.
It would just be a pleasure to see such a fight.

Frazier would win and Holyfield would claim he had some sort of illness in the fight [like he did in all his defeats]

 

Pickem fight for me. Either guy wins here.

 

How about technique, headbutts and defense? Holyfield bosses those areas and I see him being able to outbox Frazier on the outside, hold his own on the inside and outmuscling Frazier pushing him onto the back foot taking away his power/momentum

 

Same here.

I lean slightly towards Holyfield as he performed his best against come forward fighters but Frazier's relentlessness can make it war of attrition.
