somewhat similiar styles fraziers left was prob. just as good but dempseys right i believe was stronger,i think dempsey had a better right and was a better outside boxer(in his prime) with more then the simple up and down bob .forgive me for another thread surrounding dempsey but hes one of my favs. and im just curious how he would do head to head with some of the other famous heavys of yesteryears
Dempsey wins a war, better two handed power, and his quicker start out of the blocks gets him an early ko ,inside 5 rds. If Frazier got through the first 8 rds it could be very very close.
I see Frazier getting into his stride and staying close to Jack ,landing his share of hooks but generally coming off second in the exchanges.I think Dempsey had better power ,certainly in his right ,both threw good short punches ,with a lot of shoulder power behind them,Frazier seemed to get a lot of power from his stump like legas ,whereas Dempsey turned his body into his shots.Hand speed was comparable ,with Dempsey better defensively I think,[others may disagree].If it went past the middle rounds Frazier would come on and close the gap ,but I still take Dempsey by stoppage ,with Joe's face looking like he had stuck it in a beehive.
In Dempsey's era? Jack doesn't fight him. In Frazier's era? Jack has to go through too many live contenders to get a shot at Joe. The fight is impossibly unmakable.
Frazier via KO before the 10th round. He's not as slow a starter as many believe he is, especially when compared to Ali.
I think Dempsey overwhelms him in the first round or two, either way I don't think this fight would last long as it would be a war from the opening bell.
