What would have happened if Smokin' Joe would have entered the heavyweight tournament after Ali was stripped of The Championship, and he went head to head with Patterson?

I'm going to say Frazier by KO but what round? I can't say.

Horrible style matchup for Patterson. Id say Frazier by KO between the 7th and 12th.

The Patterson of the Chuvalo fight was very resilient. Can we count on that Patterson? The swarming presure of Hurricane Jackson was not as deadly as Frazier but Floyd coped very well there too. Then he used movement to outfox Bonavena. So those are the plus points for Floyd.

Whatever, Frazier has the edge here. I don't like to predict easy wins when they involve great fighters. I would expect Frazier to win but it would be competative. I think there would be surprises along the way but expect Frazier to come out on top.

I don't expect Floyd to be as poor as he was against Liston. I don't think that version could be competative with any champion.
