I think he beats both men. Charles was a superb boxer and a tough guy, but Frazier usually ate up that type of fighter. Moore had great skill and big punching ability, but was far better suited for the light heavyweight division and didn't ascend to heavy weight until he was getting up there in age. Frazier's handspeed, power and constant upper body movement would get the job done.

    Frazier beats both.

Archie gives him more trouble than Foster, but still loses. Possibly a stoppage somewhere in the middle rounds.

Charles, at his best, would be fairly competitive with Frazier during the first third of the fight. But Frazier would start to control the fight from then on with his constant swarming. But Ezzard would still have his moments with his spurts of sharp punching. Frazier would get his face messed but his weight advantage, aggression, stamina and determination would see Charles wilt in the last third of the fight, though Charles was no slouch in the stamina department.. A late round stoppage or UD win for Joe.

I would fancy peak frazier to beat both in tough, razor close fights. however, the frazier who fought foreman would be 0-2 against these two. Frazier would have to be prety fresh to walk through what these two would lay on him so only the best, fresh, frazier could win.

Moore was excelent against bigger heavyweights than frazier like baker and nino valdes, he had the punch and the knack to drop joe but would be up against a non stop machine in the smoke.

Frazier may have his hands full with Charles, once Ezzard figures out Frazier is a one-handed fighter...same with Moore...Frazier was relentless but could be staggered by a puncher, especially a pin-point puncher like Moore and Charles and the fact is Joe primed in his 27th pro fight and never reached that level again...short prime for Joe...and Joe loses some of the luster after Ali 1

You are right. Joe Frazer was too strong for Ezzard Charles and Archie Moore
who were truly lightheavyweights until Father Time made them heavier, but not better. Does anyone think that the Ezzard Charles that swept through the 175 pound division, would have lost to the 185 pound past peak heavyweight
Ezzard Charles in later years ? Not I..

Charles has pretty much no chance against Frazier IMO, really bad style match up.

Both men make it very trying for Joe Frazier

here's Frazier against an anchient Eddie Machen

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkGqmjTAf4g[/ame]

    and Frazier against Jimmy Ellis

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8DIEsPQVN4&feature=related[/ame]

    and the Bob Foster wipeout
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rewbK0QmSoE[/ame]

Moore I think goes out similarly to the way he did Marciano in the end - he would get to stationary with a puncher like Frazier and would get ground down - great fight tho while it lasted

Ez Charles I give a much better chance to - here he is in the early going of winning heavyweight recognition being a shadow of Joe Louis

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQGryRCbLzU[/ame]

and here he is blowing away Pat Valentino in defence of his title

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a9CYH5EVSY[/ame]

and against CHarlie Norkus & Cesar Brion some years later

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAcZvu4ALbo&feature=related[/ame]
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nx24RwuXWWg&feature=related[/ame]

Ezzard Charles I see being a much much harder proposition for Frazier - Charles had quicker feet, quicker hands, better side to side, better lateral movement, quicker in and out style - he could also hurt anyone - but he was a master boxer and I think he might really show Frazier up - FRazier's grinding strength would have Charles on the back foot for the most part but I see this one as a 50/50 - I think Frazier's a tad hittable and when he gets nailed by something that registers he freezes on the spot and simply ducks up and down until he gets the momentum to throw a left hook back - he's a bit preditable when he does that - I think Ezz would be able to read him good most of the time and be able to weather the moments where he does have to take some rips to the body and head - Ezz by very close decision in a hum-dinger and Frazier is trying til the very end

I agree Machen nor Foster nor Ellis proved the heavyweight success that Charles did and Charles is a much harder fight and overall much more talented....Charles was a Great overall and a better than average Heavyweight Champion

Frazier dominated the division from 67 to 72 ... From Chuvalo to Stander. That's a pretty good run. In addition he was not a one armed fighter. He had a very decent right and used it .. it's all on the film ... Charles would be a replay of Ellis and Moore would not do much better ... nothing against either man as both were great fighters but Frazier was a great heavyweight.

  15. a peak frazier would ko both.simple. not even close.
