No matter how tough and game Frazier was I feel Tyson would hurt him early and wouldn't let him off the hook.

Now this would be a great fight.

I see Frazier going down early, maybe a couple of times. But Tyson was at his most deadly at mid range, and I believe Frazier would have a good chance to get inside and keep the fight there, taking a lot of the power from Tyson's punches.

If Frazier could successfully do this I could see him stopping Tyson late.

It would probably be one of the most exciting, if not shortest HW fights of all time. Can't see this one going over 4 or 5 rounds with Tyson more than likely winning. But the longer it goes the more I favor Frazier.

Again Frazier goes down early, and if he gets inside that suits Tyson also, with the uppercuts he could throw. Tyson inside 3 rounds.

From the emotional side, one can only hope Joe can take it to the mid rounds and break Tyson mentally by just keep coming. But I wouldn't put one penny on that being the case. Tyson just hits too hard, and too fast for Joe.

While I have no problem at all with anyone picking Tyson in this match up, I do not agree that the inside fighting would suit Tyson.

Frazier would fight with his head to his opponent's chest, swinging hooks to the body and head. Tyson has finished alot more of his opponent from that mid range than he did from inside.

Are you calling the shot that knocked Berbick over 3 times mid range? How about the uppercut on Douglas when he was getting battered on the ropes in the 8th round?

No of course not. He has finished people on the inside, its just that I believe him to be much more effective at mid range. And also Berbick and Douglas were not as good at infighting as Frazier lol

If Frazier makes it past 5 or 6, it's his fight. He ends up breaking Tyson down.

As much as I love Frazier, he won't. Tyson catches him early and ends him worse than Foreman did.

Can't get all that much worse than hitting the deck six times in a round and a half.

As hard as this is to say because im a huge fan of both these guys...This is a match of a very fast starter in Tyson Vs a well known slow starter in Frazier. Although it may not be AS bad as when Mike fought Marvis I dont see Joe makin outa this one! Tyson would make it a point to attack early and hard to not give Frazier a chance to set up.
I say Mike has him outa there within 3 and even though this is 2 great HW's matching up this would be a hard bout to watch cause I know whats gonna happen.

I'm a huge fan of Frazier but I think he falls to Tyson in the early rounds. Mike with his speed, power and chin is a bad fight for Joe.

Frazier was a slow starter and Tyson was a fast starter...Frazier had the better stamina & much better late stamina & finishing power...Frazier has to survive early fire (tough task) but if he does he takes over...Frazier would have to hurt Tyson early or somehow avoid Tyson's attack....the key is getting past the early rds for Joe

If crude, slow, less powerful hitting Bonavena beat him once(in my opinion) and gave him hell the 2nd time, similarly built and style Tyson, would beat Joe.

For the Marvis Frazier fight, Tysons comments before the fight were 'when you jab, he bows, he bows down like this, when he does that im going to catch him with an uppercut'

As much as respect Frazier, fighting Tyson head on, while being a slow starter is not a good story. Especially when you have vulnerabilities like the uppercut, aside from Foreman, Tyson probably had one of the best uppercuts at heavyweight.

Its the punch which dropped Douglas in the 9th, rocked Holyfield in the 5th and also stunned Lewis in the first round.

People say Frazier wins this the longer the fight goes on, based on what? Tyson showed he could stand toe to toe against guys like Ruddock for the full 12.

IF Frazier does somehow make it into the later rounds (which i dont think he will), i dont think Tyson will suddenly 'cave in' for him.

If anything Tyson only ever got bored/disheartened against boxers, Tucker etc. Guys that werent willing to play ball. Tyson wouldnt have to go far to find Frazier.
