A tough one to pick. Power definitely goes to Apostoli. Durability to Hudkins. Apostoli was a banger. Ace was a slasher. I'll go with Hudkins by decision. He was as aggressive and vicious as they come. I think his body work would slow Fred down and keep him on the defensive from mid rounds on. I wouldn't bet money on it though.
Surf-my dad saw the young tough Ace hudkins ko a great young sensation, Ruby Goldstein ,who was supposed to be the new Benny Leonard ,in Coney island. He raved about the toughness of Ace Hudkins. Hudkins went on to have a great career as a middleweight. He was so tough that William Muldoon the boxing commisioner,who once trained John l Sullivan,and saw EVERYONE since the days of John L,called Hudkins an" abysmal brute ",and was 'inhuman.". Coming from Muldoon, that tells us something of the Nebraska Wildcat. As for picking the winner between Hudkins and Apostoli, I am undecided.
