    Nice one. Definitely one of Williams' better scalps, probably slightly underneath Willie Joyce but just above Enrique Bolanos.

    Freddie Dawson is famous down here in Australia he fought all the best lightweights and welterweights in the country and beat them all,including the best in Australia Vic Patrick.

    He sure did.

    People who saw him fight in Australia at the time rated him as one of the best fighters to fight on these shores.Which when you consider Jack Johnson,Archie Moore and Sam Langford all fought here is high praise indeed.

    He cleaned out all the lightweight and welters in a very strong era for Australian boxing.Aside from getting off the floor to beat Patrick in a classic he also beat top liners in George Barnes,Alfie Sands,Eddie Miller and Jack Hassen to name a few.

    A great forgotten fighter from a great era for the sweet science.

    I thought you were referring to the referee Tommy Rawson ,who let Tommy Collins take a beating from Jimmy Carter.
    I dont know this guy.
