He's not that tall. I know because I've met him once upon a time. It's not just height either, it's physical presence and essence. Those that understand what I mean will understand what I mean and might have boxed themselves at some level and not just be a fan of the sport... He might be 6ft1 or just over but this isn't a naturally 'big' guy despite all the hes-a-fat-******* banter. Fat? Well, yeah. In the same way that a professional sportsman can be said to be fat and out of shape, which frankly isn't fat like you or your mate being fat. Some people you've seen on TV you meet and they look smaller, others are bigger, rarely... they are the same.

    Why not cruiserweight Freddy?

There's nowhere to go at heavy, even if you have some success, that doesn't ultimately lead to a 6 and a half foot (plus) super giant - or someone like Rogan or Chisora who are both far, far, far more solid than the more structurally lean Flintoff. It's a bizarre decision. Cricketing Flintoff can't have been much more than 15.5 stone, tops. Why not run for a few weeks, boil down and at least see if the pop is there. Too late now, better find a corpse for him to fight.

    :deal

I know exactly what you mean about size and physical presence.

I was lucky enough to meet Lennox Lewis several years a go when I lived in London, and I couldn't believe how big he was!

I've met people who were the same height (or taller) than him before and since, but there was something about him.

It almost felt like he would have to turn sideways to walk through a door.

I had even more respect for him after that because I just couldn't beleive that a man as big as that could move that quickly!

I also met Chris Eubank at a book signing for his autobiography a few years back, got to shake his hand and have my picture with him, again I was really surprised by how 'big' he was.

Its not just height, its shoulders, its chest, even hands (Eubanks hands were HUGE!), and its also about supreme confidence, awesome!:D
