Somebody answer me this question. Can fats be turned into muscle glycogen..? Nope. So do you honestly think a diet, consisting of no carbs is going to be help a athlete be at 100% physical conditioning, during performance and recovery...?
Hello ******. Can fats been turned into muscle glycogen...? Nope. "Glycogen is the main way the body stores glucose for later us. Glycogen is the primary fuel your muscles use for energy production; therefore, optimizing glycogen stores is important and it's one of the reasons energy levels decrease when reducing carbs" Protein and fats can be broken down into glucose, but they can not be synthesised into glycogen. Plus you don't want your body to be breaking down protein into glucose anyway, that's not its primary function. Note: If you want to lose weight go ahead and eat your ****ing stupid, caveman diet. But if you want to perform and recover optimally, don't be a ****** and use carbs. It all depends on what your goals are..? If you are a ****** who wants to lose weight..? Because it will some how magically improve all areas of performance........then be a caveman.
Shane McGuigan is probably one of the only "strength and conditioning coaches" who actually possesses the proper qualifications. He studied it FFS. Now he is putting it to use. I think the plan is to get Freddy losing weight and when he reaches his equilibrium carbs will be back on the menu. Freddy at 119kg is a prime example of a skinny fat arse. Shane McGuigan is a terrific coach in his scientific approach to strength, conditioning and nutrition. In terms of boxing though i'm not sure if he has the tools.
I actually bought this, thinking why would Chad be part of this fiasco, and what is Freddy thinking going for a suicide... Not even most skilled amateurs don't go for the Champ in first fight.
I thought Jacamo where clothes for the " bigger " man ? They are going to want some money back if he keeps on losing all this weight !
Well he was doing proper sparring, one guy was laying it on Freddy but he was still punching back with short counters even though he was losing. I think he looked as good as anyone in Freddy's position can look. Although it's unclear if that will be enaugh, for me that's what will make this interesting though.
Spoke with Shane Mcguigan at the Hatton fight on Saturday. He says there's a possibility that Freddie will lose the fight but they didn't want to put him in with somebody he could just bowl over as it would be pointless. There's no ambition to get him towards and form of belt and Freddie will probably have a max 3 or 4 fights depending on his progress. Freddie has got a hard punch apparently and decent whiskers. As for Dawson he had 6 fights as an amateur and 2 as a pro. As for Shane's knowledge as far as i'm aware he was a pretty good amateur himself and a qualified S&T coach so plenty qualified to coach Freddie.
yeah shane was a good amatuer, won an irish u-21 title then jacked it in, he would have been very good if he kept it up imo considering he only had a handfull of fights when he won the irish title.
