quite a few snobs on here, if he wants to give it a go who is anybody to say he cant? if he takes it serious and trains hard and comes in fighting fit and in shape good luck to him
Apparently, when the two of them were playing for England together, it wasn't Pietersen who was the 'dressing room dick' that nobody got along with but Flintoff. Though to be fair, I think KP has certainly made that role his own since then.
I've never heard anything to suggest that Freddie and Athers were anything other than firm friends. It's well documented that he and Pietersen always had an iffy relationship. In fact that could be said about Pietersen and anyone other than Vaughan, Gough, Warne and Simon Jones.
I now where you're coming from mate, but I've just watched him on the pads on Sky and I've now got cornflakes all over my screen, he was seriously terrible. You'll know yourself how much young talent there is in this country that can't get on the telly for love nor money, and to see Barry McGuigan giving it the yammer about how he wants a decent opponent for him and helping him along the way gave me the boke. If you looked closely you could see the $ $ in each of Barry's eyes. You could argue that this will give boxing a platform to be viewed by a wider audience, but I personally think it's making a mockery out of the sport. I tip my cap to anyone who laces on a pair of gloves, but you've surely got to serve some sort of apprentiship before you can just dive in the ring and collect a healthy packet and appear on the TWO biggest channels for the sport in our country. Think the lad needs to give himself a shake.
they wont stick him in with anybody dangerous, and probably a few back handers to the journeymen he does fight to not rough him up too much
