Freddie Roach – Manny Pacquiao made me [but] he’s broke and will have to keep fighting, it’s his life.... Pacquiao (53-3-2, 38ko), who has an upcoming fight against Juan Manuel Marquez in November, currently divides his time between fighting, being a musician and actor, as well as working as congressman for the Sarangani province in his native Philippines. It is his political obligations, though, together with his generosity that have contributed to a decline in the Filipino’s financial situation. Roach (pictured above) tellingly explained to Brin-Jonathan Butler: “He’s broke because of that and all the people he flies around to his fights. He goes through money like you wouldn’t believe. He can’t say no. Of course he’ll have to keep fighting. He does now. He won’t be able to stop – it’s his life.” http://onthebeak.com/2011/08/20/fre...-will-have-to-keep-fighting-its-his-life-503/
why does floyd get pulled into this thread in all the replies?, he has nothing to do with this, pac really needs to get his act together and secure himslf financially in these last few fights. He deserves to relax when retired and shouldnt be forced to continue. I still believe even if he had nothing he can pull a tyson and live off celeb money in the phillipines.
Pacquiao throwing money around like a madman, isn't exactly new news. Roach talked about this in one of the Oscar-Pac 24-7 episodes. He's always been concerned about Pac handing out money to whoever.
political obligations? That sh*ts supposed to make you richer not broker... I knew he'd make a shitty politician. He can't even get THAT part right.
off topic but Mike Tyson is not one of [but] the greatest boxing historian who ever lived, said Roach, who spends most of his time in his Wildcard Boxing Gym in Hollywood, California. Back to the bare knuckle days, Tyson knows more about this sport than anyone on the planet but I dont think he feels boxing has treated him too good. I think Mike Tyson could be the greatest boxing announcer weve ever had. Well have to see if he can come back to boxing. That's interesting Anyways, I hope emmanuel doesn't go broke. It would be interesting to see how his style changes as he ages and loses his speed. He makes plenty of mistakes that the speed allows him to get away with.
he gets beaten up by fighters he would have knocked out now, similair to jones and it will be sad to see. he makes a lot of mony every fight though, he should be able to end up financially secured even from now.
damn, i hate to here this about pac. seems like such a nice guy. i hope he gets his **** together and doesn't wind up like holyfield, jones jr, and others fighting for money after they should have left
