DLH called for this fight and wants it more than any other fight, if he really wants it he ought to consider those demands.

i think thats fair if DLH wants to fight a guy much smaller than him he should cave to those demands.

After Margo's win over Miguel Cotto, he is now recognized to be the best WW in the world. Oscar should fight him, it is the best fight out there. I just think that it's a fight Oscar knows he will lose.

These demands only underscore what a joke of a fight this is to begin with. What a waste of ****ing time.

It's VERY Typical GBP/Oscar bull****. Oscar has a weird way of looking at boxing, and his opponents, and this comes from to many "Yes Men" asskissers at GBP, like Schaefer.

    1. He thinks that because "he is the draw" that this means that he "calls all the shots" in negotiations. This has been proven over and over that it isnt the case. Starting with Trinidad. At the Post Fight Press Conference, Oscar and Bobby Booby Arum, were told in no uncertain terms, that they were GUARANTEED an INSTANT rematch, except that certain "financial stuff" would be reversed, as in this time, the Team Trinidad DOJO 60, the Team DLH DOJO 40, and Oscar and Arum were walking around with nauseated and angry looks after Don dropped this bombshell in front of live cameras. 10 years later and Oscar is still haunted by the term "Chicken de la Hoya"

    2. Sugar, after the 2nd win, told Oscar, we can do a third fight, "but I need to make more $$$, if even just by one dollar" Oscar scoffed, and started with the "It's more money on the table than he will make fighting anyone else" crap, and Sugar, Jack Mosley told Oscar to "live with your memories of the losses then"

    3. Same thing with Baby Floyd. Oscar should have DEMANDED an instant rematch in September. It would have been huge, and why not strike while the Iron was hot? Oscar knew in his heart that Floyd was the SBA, and hemmed and hawed, and dillied and dallied, and waited, and meanwhile, Floyd made mad cash destroying Hatton, and the Big Show, and Oscar fought Stevie Forbes. Oscar KNEW that Floyd couldnt be shortchanged, or lowballed, and then Floyd retired.

Now Oscar is doing this with Manny Pac. Oscar is NOT the entire draw in that fight. THE FIGHT ITSELF is the draw, not the Golden Tranny.

Oscar won't make 147 the day before the fight without being weakened or having some special commissioners or Jose Luis Castillo's doctor helping him out.

Forget about making it the day OF the fight.

Roach eyes same-day weigh-in vs De La Hoya

    July 31, 2008 04:09:00

    Roy Luarca

    Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines—If the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar De La Hoya fight pushes through, Freddie Roach has a simple formula to prevent the Mexican legend from increasing his built-in weight advantage over the Filipino superstar further.

“I’m pushing for a same-day (as the fight) weigh-in,” Roach told Ron Borges of The Sweet Science on Tuesday.

“We’d need some things in our favor; it can’t be all one way,” added Roach.

Pacquiao, accompanied by wife Jinkee and their three children, is currently in Las Vegas to meet with Top Rank president Bob Arum and lay down conditions for the megabuck bout.

Among the terms Pacquiao will reportedly ask is an equal purse and a share of the pay-per-view and gate receipts.

To dissuade De La Hoya from putting up more poundage, Team Pacquiao is also keen on asking for a whopping $750,000 in penalty for every excess pound the 35-year-old ten-time champion will bring into the fight.

Meanwhile, World Boxing Council president Jose Sulaiman has turned over the WBC mini-belt to Pacquiao, who will serve as flag-bearer of the Philippine delegation to the Beijing Olympics, which kicks off Aug. 8.
